You need to learn the difference in the words "effect" and "affect".

Affect is usually a verb, and effect is usually a noun. To affect something is to change or influence it, and an effect is something that happens due to a cause. When you affect something, it produces an effect.
Could be either. The cause being the Merial/BI deal; the effect is what is going to happen to/at Merck.

We just purchased Novartis. Is that not big enough? Once we get vaccines from your merger game over.

Gain from Novartis; zero. Bios are the key. If the sales force gets trained on the vaccine market (totally different than Pharms or flea and tick) you might have something. Might.

You're going to get Merial's vaccines. Good luck with that!
You think selling comfortis sucks wait until you have the most expensive vaccines with voodoo science. Gonna be fun when the vet says I usually get 20 cartons of free nexgard to offset the cost of your vaccines and can you pay for my company Christmas dinner too?

You can buy your way to the big boy table but youre gonna get your ass handed to you for a few years until your sales staff learns to sell more than 3-4 products and vaccines are a little different than fleas and ticks.

Please ! Maybe the Merial people can repeat more "force another product onto the promo" campaigns to temporarily pump up the sales of their monthly crap no one wants anymore.

Can't wait for all the returns as more vets discover our products and their stand alone promos, like Bravecto. No need to load in three other products you don't want chasing a better price on shit a few clients can go buy at the mall department store anyways.

You've bought a couple of patent expiring soon tablets and generic Fipronil. Woo hoo for you !
Vets still fondly remember the screwing they and their patients got when your dirty factory was shut down.

Don't throw stones when we have issues with people feeling screwed. $860,000,000 to settle a coverup scandal that may have cost lives.
The history of S/P -Merck is littered with recalls and extended back orders. Vetsulin lost for two years because of formulations issues. A long list of livestock vaccines pulled due to adverse events and lack of efficacy. Our factories FDA forced shutdowns due to unsanitary conditions. The list is long and any Pharm manufacturer faces or will face FDA scrutiny . Merck is a good company and Elanco is a competitor that is here to stay. I will not discount their potential to capture my market share. They will be formidable competitors with a bio line. Particlarly with the two out of three vets that view bios as a commodity. Lose the childish reaction and analyze your market and the threats to that market.

hey - I am starting a small vet services company. where do I get Vet targeting data? IMS and Symp Health, traditional providers of Rx data don't have anything for Vets.
How do you guys get the lead lists or what metrics do you use to target and what are the vendors that sell that data?

you go out and pound the pavement! Takes time. Show them what you have to offer. You may be able to find a list of which vets someone else thinks are good targets. Do you have a product or service to sell?
