It's a great way to get your name out there for being foolish with your money. There's no evidence such a desperate action leads to anything positive such as increasing sales. When is the last time a surgeon said I would use your crap if only you put your name on the side of a sports arena? The money would have been much better used for R&D or gifting to a responsible charity.
if you are going to make a move like that than you need to follow it up with more marketing and advertising to let people know who and what you are about.
The only upside to the arena name is David's box seats he can take all the admin in skirts to liquor up and have his drunkfests with.
