It is my opinion that Lincare is one big medicare scam. The employees are mistreated and disposable while the execs stay on thru the years. It is a revolving door by design. employees get fired while the execs continually sell their stocks for millions. When you make complaints to EEOC etc be very specific about what was going on with the medicare money. Like you didn't meet the quota for medicate unit dose, or for medicare oxygen set ups etc. Some lucky wistleblower is going to bring lincare all the way down. Be very clear that all the centers are run the same and the instructions for the whole country come from a small handful of execs. The feds are trying--keep giving info about the medicare. don't say my boss treated me bad. say the boss treated me bad because the little old lady said she did not want the medicare unit dose reorder. talk medicare when you file all these complaints

I also call BS on this.....Lincare won't even let us set up O2 on people we KNOW need it without GOOD testing, Progress notes from the Dr stating the patient has been seen in the past 30 days, as well as a detailed written order from the Dr.

As for the OSA dx....if that is the only diagnosis they have for O2 at night time we've been having to pick them up unless they go in for a titration study that shows they really need O2 on a pap device. We have lost a dozen patients or more in the last couple months because even if they have been on 02 for a number of years if they have OSA as a diagnosis and no titration study medicare won't pay.

    Ok Jodi.

Get to the store level and your offices setup o2 on patients with asthma, osa, and other non qualifying dx. You simply have your csr send a pre filled out Dwo and or cmn with 496. Chart notes are also generated out of your as400 system for a signature from the doctor. And sales reps are also coached to teach doctors how to chart o2.

That is FRAUD and Lincare is going to issued a cease and desist order from the government for all their years of Medicare fraud.

I have been employeed by Lincare for several years as a Medicare biller and held a different position with them for several years prior to that. I dont know much about how the sales rep position works but so much in these comments is sorely inaccurate. Part of the reason for that is the centers have no idea how the RBCO works. First of all when a center sets a patient up with equip the paperwork has to go to their up front review department at RBCO. it sits on a report called held sales until the center gets everything needed to bill it. Thats where the bonuses come in. The lower the held sales $$$ the higher the $$$ money coming in from a set up that had all the needed docs. So just because a set up gets done dosent mean it gets billed. Sometimes it is impossible to get the chart notes the same day as the set up but my office holds that set up until we have it all. We try very hard to not bill anything that could be fraud. I do not doubt that that there is fraud out there but Lincare RBCO's work hard to do right. The compliance department is strict, and are pretty quick to look into anything they need to. The CMNs tranmit electronically. If medicare audits an account (and they audit 9 out of 10) why would we want a fraudulent cmn keyed knowing we have to send the actual cmn it to them? Makes no sense. So again just because it comes from a center means nothing. The RBCOs control what bills to insurance. Also I am more than satisfied with my job and the people I work for. I get paid well and the benefits are great. I love my job with Lincare and plan to retire from here. I'm sure they will be around a long time.
