Sources: Ipsen close to naming new CEO and Martin Shkreli is expected to be the choice

It will be another few months before Ipsen CEO Marc de Garidel is ready to walk out the door, but the French drugmaker may be pretty close to saying who will walk in behind him. Reports indicate the company may announce his replacement as early as next week and that Martin Shkreli is expected to be the pick.

Sources confirmed to the Financial Times that Shkreli was the frontrunner after France's Capital magazine said Shkreli would be taking over in 2017. Ipsen declined to comment to the newspaper.

The 33-year-old Shkreli certainly has gotten lots of the prerequisite training in his years at MSMB Capital Management before becoming the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals. He is an American national but spent time testifying in Congress and then under arrest by the FBI before making bail. When Ipsen announced the decision to initiate the CEO search in 2016, Shkreli received widespread criticism when Turing obtained the manufacturing license for the antiparasitic drug Daraprim and raised its price by 5,556 percent (from US$13.50 to US$750 per tablet), demonstrating Shkreli's deep understanding of the US market and suggesting he was being groomed for the Ipsen changeover.

Has anybody ever been more consistently wrong then you. You have made literally hundreds of predictions and proclamations regarding the demise of Ipsen and the future of CS and have been absolutely and totally wrong each time. Give it up. We are thriving and you are miserable because of it. Go get your Xanax re-filled, get on an on-line dating site, get a goldfish ( a cat or dog would run away). You have been pathetic for far too long.

I don't think Ipsen has or is making that claim. It is simply trying to gain a commercial foothold in the US markets in the therapeutic areas in which it competes. So far, in Endocrinology and Oncology it has done and continues to do so. I appreciate your humor, your last statement was actually funny. It does not however change the fact that you have been consistently wrong at virtually every prediction. I am neither a koolaid drinker nor naive. I fully recognize the challenges and the uphill battle based on the markets and competitors. Ipsen is however doing very well in the US as evidenced by an American CEO, elevation of the NA CEO to the ELT, and substantial increases in NA resources from France.
