Same blah blah blah ignorant response by those who worked for Nobel...Astra... Understand something boy genius, when market conditions are at play, one can't dismiss the possibilities. Look at Harvard Reviews for similar case studies...Jerk off.

Do yourself a favor, grab that brittle cloth you call a sock, and take care of yourself tonight. Seems like you need some release.

This is ridiculous. They are a publicly traded company and if their revenue forecast plunges. over night. by 20%, in all the Euro markets, at once, they have to do something about it.

I know that instead of letting ppl go they asked the employees in Switzerland to give up on parts of their STIs (staff) and LTIs (upper management). Pretty clever move since stock price went up again to 220 Francs since.

Exactly, Straumann chose not to increase prices or let people go when the volatility occured in the Euro Market. They instead took paycuts in Switzerland.

Pretty awesome company I would say- and a smart decision.

    Hmmm...

Those that run these companies are suppose to be the creme of the creme. I will assume, safely, that they have prestigious MBA's, PHD's, and years of experience working with other companies in various life cycles. They have paid consultants they lean on to predict if the dollar goes this way, implement plan A. If it were to go the other way, implement plan B. Also, being that they are publicly traded, you have speculators that share their 2 cents.

Everyone knew that currencies were going a certain direction as the dollar gained strength, especially within the past 6 months. Yet, "they didn't see this coming?" Please....

Either they knew that this was coming, and figured, "hey, we will just cut pay, refer to plan A." Meanwhile, they were spending money purchasing Megagen, Neodent, and others.

In my opinion, if they really didn't see it coming, then they are not worth their pay. If they did, then they didn't care for the replaceables (aka, those not on the executive board).

Why would I then want to work for this company. Oh, and get ready U.S., once the dollar devalue's when we hit another cyclical recession, or, if inflation kicks in and COGS go up, guess what they are gonna ask you to do? It's pretty predictable, see plan A.

    Well said.

Move made sense and the stock price rebounded almost instantly. The situation was managed surprisingly well.

but...but...straumann has so much research on their implants and ....and....they have been around long time....and...and...they integrate the fastest....hahaha.....what a bunch of BS. If you pay Straumann prices you are a schmuck. Save your money for your kids education. They will need it. All implants work. Choose one that is value based, with good customer service, and good support.

But, but, but, but My Accounts Love Me and they are Loyal to ME. They'll pay whatever it takes.*

    * Ask one of the hundreds of former retail reps shitcanned this year how that's working out for them. You can find them easily. Just go down to Home Depot or the grocery store and ask. That's where their dental career took them.
