I was having lunch with a fellow former Winthrop rep (he left after a couple years for the then-greener pastures of Glaxo, etc.).

Anyway, near the end of lunch, he mentioned, gee, do you still have Harry Oschenbein's number. I didn't, but I figured I'd find it on the internet. What I did find was that Harry passed away on August 4, 2016, in Huntsville, Texas, where he had resided since retiring from what was Sanofi-Winthrop in 1994. He had been with Winthrop for 38 years before retiring, many of those as Houston district manager.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary, two sons and family and friends.

I had the honor of working for Harry for four years and continuing that friendship for years to follow. I can remember lunches at Grady's, and listening to some of the funniest jokes and stories during his field rides and other gatherings.

And I'm sorry I hadn't made the trip to Huntsville these past few years.

No, I'm not. Started with Breon in 83 for the last year of that show, moved over to Winthrop-Breon in 84, and went hospital and diagnostic imaging until we split up. I ended up going Nycomed-Amersham-and GE (yuk) before getting pushed out in 05.

I must know you. I started in 78 with Breon and went thru all the name changes until I left in 99.

Just missed one another. I started with McNeil in 78. Shortly after I was hired we hired a Breon Rep for San Antonio--Rich Petrie. Were you his replacement?

There is some keyboard courage going on here. That is the trouble with social media. People will type out attacks that they would never have their name attached, let alone say it to them face to face. True definition of a coward.
