This guy is lying...they do test. Urine and blood test and it is a condition of your employment. You will be sent to a local labcorp soon after your offer letter is accepted. You fail the test, offer is rescinded-happened to my friend 3 months ago.Quit smoking for at least 30 days.

That must be something new they are doing - I guess when you start pulling from ADP and Paychex you have to start drug testing too. Pretty soon Intuitive will just set up a booth outside the local high school and start recruiting people.

You're a freaking idiot. I just went through training a few months ago and my classmates were some of the most successful device reps in their respective areas. I'm pretty sure that 80-90% of the class came from Ethicon, Covidien, Medtronic or another top device company. These were some of the sharpest and most clinically sound reps I've ever met. We recruit top talent and that was proven to me very quickly. Get off of our CP board! There's too many great things happening for and with this company to listen to absolute nonsense from idiots like the above.

To answer the original question, we do not have a pre-employment drug test. We have accountability. If you're a druggie and make it through the long and difficult interview process, congrats. Now get to work and add value to your accounts.

Actually you are the idiot and you said it all in your first sentence. You just got out of cast...you are still all pumped up thinking this is the coolest job ever and you have power over surgeons and or directors and or staff that you can't even believe. Give it three quarters max and you will either be gone or you'll be on this thread trying to warn people about how fucked up it is. Go back and read threads of how people's lives have literally been destroyed. Oh, wait, I bet you won't let that happen to you. Your csm maybe even told you he or she cares about work-life balance. Hahaah!! What a joke. Have fun during your 18 months at ISI. Keep your resume updated.

So you're saying that anyone coming out of training with enthusiasm is an idiot and is nothing but a blind koolaid drinker? All he/she said was that they trained with all very successful reps from other great companies and that a drug test was not required. He/she said nothing about power over surgeons, directors or staff. He/she was just responding to earlier thread posts about ISI recruiting high school grads and ADP/Paychex people. Calm down douche

I actually did bong hits on my interview...We all had a laugh and a few beers too. The home office is in CA and is next to a medical marijuana dispensary so during the month long training, we get crippled at night and mess around with the robots. Awesome stuff...

They usually only test to be sure you keep drinking the kool aid.
