Just got the word from my DBM, no gift this year. It's not the fact that we aren't getting one, its the way it was handled. Amature at best, condescending at worse. Where's the open communication. 20 wtg points was really insulting. Don't just ignore this Andy, we all know you read this stuff. Address the issue.

I'm sure if they gave out expensive Xmas gifts only weeks after laying off 1000 people it would cause backlash and possible lawsuits/bad publicity (remember Denmark trip) from the terminated employees. Honestly, if you are concerned about your Xmas gifts your perception of reality is very distorted and I feel bad for you. Good luck everyone!

Apples and oranges. You can't possibly compare the salaries of 1000 people to a Christmas gift. That's like saying, "I don't know why we heat the home office in winter. After all, we laid off 1000!"

Think about it this way - did stiffing the employees on their Christmas gift REALLY make that big of a difference to profit/loss? I would imagine the negative productivity as a result of nose-diving morale is a bigger factor on our numbers.

All of you should be ashamed of yourselves! Crying over your 20 points, acting like your the cream of the crop! You are all replaceable! Enjoy the 20 points you could have nothing!

So, purveyor of all things we should & shouldn't want this holiday season, where exactly do we draw the line? I've received a nice Christmas gift every year I've worked for this company, and it's something I look forward to. Am I not allowed to do that anymore? What about my company car? After all, those people who were laid off don't have a company car anymore. What about my benefits? Am I allowed to ask questions and want good coverage for my family. Those poor, laid off employees don't get benefits anymore. How about my salary? Am I supposed to never ask for more or never be dissatisfied with my raise because some people lost their jobs? I'm just curious which parts of my job are off-limits to discuss or to want now that some people got laid off. You seem to be the authority on what others are allowed to do here, so spread your divine knowledge on us. Can you make a list of standard job perks that are acceptable and unacceptable to discuss now that we've been through lay-offs?

If you want to feel bad for someone, feel bad for yourself. You apparently bear the burden of everyone at NNI in determining what's acceptable to ask for this time of year. It must be really hard to be the self-appointed know-it-all. Best of luck - hopefully, you'll snatch a few presents out of the hands of your children this year as they are unwrapping them - after all, there are those less fortunate than you this holiday season. Until everyone is happy, no one can be.

I predict gifts go out at POA. Didn't want the expense to hit the books in 2016.
