John Lewis is like an old rock star that hasn't had a hit in decades, but he's still trying to keep the band together by selling lies and ignoring his own decrepit performance. John Lewis joined a cadre of political hucksters to testify against the Honorable Jeff Sessions, yet none of them provided facts to support their disparaging remarks. All this in the shadow of responsible blacks that actually knew and worked with Sessions and could testify, with specifics, about how un-racist Sessions is. But, for the race hustlers like Lewis, and now Booker, facts matter less than innuendo of a boogie man. Now Lewis has assembled a group of fellow elitist, spoiled, child-like congressman to boycott one of the great celebrations of our Constitution and our country: the peaceful transfer of power. It takes short order to notice the mindless groupies joining Lewis' boycott are largely from districts where where schools are failing their constituent children, and those elected to rescue them from the squalor of inner-city schools and crime prefer to support the union organizations that are more concerned with perpetuating their own existence than helping the children succeed in life. John Lewis, without doubt, was a courageous fighter for civil rights. In that he succeeded and the country has compiled with generations of affirmative action. Some took advantage, while others preferred to be mired in their victimhood. In Lewis' own hometown, there have been influxes of non-black minorities from around the globe that have outperformed the citizens that Lewis pretends to represent. Well, John Lewis is now like the dog that caught the bus. The only problem for him is that the bus is filled with generations of liberal democrat rule that has run America's major cities into institutions of poverty and hopelessness. John Lewis has caught his bus, and he can't admit who's onboard.
An excellent and eloquent post and sadly all too true. If Lewis had moral and intellectual integrity he would have remained a great American hero, but he didn't. He showed true moral and physical courage on that bridge in Selma. And sadly he has sold his birthright for a mess of Democrat dysfunction and sell out porridge. Now he's just another hypocritical liberal hack politician tarnishing his true achievement which is now decades old. You coulda been a contender, John, like Clarence Thomas or Ben Carson, but now you're just a bum!

You couldn't be more right. Lewis and his fellow race hucksters cannot allow America to be united. Without a racial divide, Lewis is an insignificant rumor of his once important self. As you point out, Lewis is now just another Sharpton/Jackson race baiter. All of these miscreants seek to keep their flocks in tow by preventing them to have the same opportunities at success as those afforded better schools and better education.
