shire has a retaliation clause in place, but does anyone know how the anonymous hr hotline works? Does it really stay anonymous? Wouldn't it capture your phone number? Or record your message so your voice was on file?
Serious responses only (i recognize this is CP, but there is a real issue at hand)

If it's that bad and you are hesitant I would contact an attorney to discuss before contacting Shire HR in case of retaliation.

Is this Novartis history repeating itself at Shire?

yes contact a lawyer then HR, but be warned...I know there is a no retaliation policy (every company has one) but that doesn't mean much I promise. GSK had one and the day after I complained I got audited by expense dept and sample dept. just be two steps ahead of everybody and be prepared if they try to turn things around on you. Good luck.

Yeah its true man. Once i complained they started making my goals higher and then they monitored where
i was driving and when i was shopping. They said i was grocery shopping when i was really as the post office, so i was able to get away with it. So you got to be careful when you cheat the company.

Nothing is anonymous. You have to understand that HR is there for one reason only --- To protect the COMPANY. However, with this bunch of people leading the organization, HR is led by one of them (i.e. dirty 30) and they all stick together. You can pretty much guarantee that what you share will shared and you will be singled out. A couple years ago an HR director did just that to a department that complained about compliance infractions. None of them are here now anymore. Trust history.

As others have stated, HR is only there to protect the company, remember Shire is a billion dollar organization and they will protect that at all cost and I mean all cost. I know for a fact that both the HR and Compliance hotline is not protected and ZDs and above are notified.

Best advice I have heard is to document everything, send yourself an email documenting the situation so it is time stamped, as you collect evidence then contact an attorney and they will advise you on your best course of action, once you go to anyone within the organization it becomes official

we have no idea why this person wants to reach out to HR. Document what is relevant and if it is a matter where it is you against the company for some reason, consult an attorney for advise.

The Hr hotline will keep information confidential. They have the utmost integrity and always have the employees well being in mind. I highly recommend contacting them with any problems and don't pull no punches or be afraid. We are here to help you. Trust us !!!

Good to know. I'm calling on them on Monday. They'll stop my manager in his tracks and I'll be home free.

I'm not the original poster. Their past history is repeating itself at Shire. It's the Novartis lawsuit all over again. I wonder how the board and shareholders will respond to the fines Shire gets hit with?

Unfortunately, all who have been terminated without just cause have accepted their severance so there is no lawsuits forthcoming. FO brought not only Perry and KK but a savvy HR team and skilled attorneys. Shire has deep pockets and pays people to leave quietly. Sad. What they did to this once great company is disgusting. I hope the stock tanks and they never see a bonus again.

The lawsuits have nothing to do with termination.

This is true. I gladly took my fat severance and stock option grants and ran as fast and as far as I could from this toxic environment that both PS and KK brought here. I went back to work a month later and funded my kids college account. Thanks suckers!

They have used this tactic often to remove good performing people in order to make room for their friends. Its a way to help build the corruption network. It has been done in corporate and also in the field.

Its an underhanded disgusting act but at least you leave with your dignity and some nice cash. Plus, who wants to stay here with these people and their horrible culture?

Exactly the upper and mid level management is now full of dipshits and friends. They reduce their own (managerial) accountability by promoting within their friend networks using corrupt politics and games then lecture everyone else about performance. People don't respect it and it never works long term.

The morale here is gone and no one is happy. Seems like everyone is looking around for other jobs because of that.
