is this meeting to inform us about winning the BI vaccines? How can we possibly add this to the mess we are dealing with?!!

i was wondering the same thing. How could it be us when this company (in the words of another company at their recent regional sales meeting) "can't get its shit together"? What a waste of time and money.
Here's a thought: how about revamping the BS goals JVP stuck us with before he took off?!
I've heard this is corporate's idea, to give us a rah rah pep rally meeting.

Dear Home Office, I know you check this. If you want to motivate your sales force give them goals they can actually attain, based on products they actually have to sell. I know. That's a crazy idea.

This place is toxic. How much longer before mass exodus? Where's that report from the FDA on that inspection a couple weeks ago?????

Virbac is not even in the running for BI vaccines. They can't sell the shit they've got now.

Plus, you know the Germans hate the French.

LOL- except Sanofi (Merial) is French. So these Germans apparently love the French.

That's great news for Merial(BI), Merck, and Zoetis vaccine rep's. Virbac can't handle the stuff they have now so should be easy to pick off the vaccine business. Nice move by BI, sell to a company that can't compete!!!!

yeah right... You people are kidding yourselves. Virbac will NEVER get those vaccines. They're going to either Ceva or Elanco because those are the only two companies that can continue their success. BI has no say whatsoever in who gets them- the FTC makes that decision. Whatever your meeting is about on the 14th I can guarantee has NOTHING to do with getting BI's vaccines.

The FTC doesn't make the decision. BI sells to the highest bidder and/or whoever meets the most favorable demands of the deal. Once that agreement is made then it goes to the FTC for approval.

Really,BI was not the highest bidder when they were awarded the FDAH products. Mr/Mrs Smarty Pants

Yes they were. I made he bid.

This is true. BI was not the highest bidder and they got them because the FTC deemed them competent enough to make vaccines. Doubtful they would make the same decision about Virbac.

As I said, it's not necessarily the highest bidder. It's also about meeting other concessions of the sale. For example, the buyer this time around also has to be willing to take on the Zoetis contract. The highest bidder may refuse that part of the deal and therefore the highest bidder doesn't get the sale.

What Zoetis contract? And everyone's right, Virbac can't get their shit together. Their solution? Lay off some of their hardest working employees who have stuck it out through really bad times. Reward their loyal employees by dropping them like radioactive waste. They'll never compete with the likes of Zoetis, Elanco, Merial,...etc. Pipe dream.

    You were wrong- it's Elanco.

I wasn't wrong. I never stated who was going to be the buyer. Just explained the process.

The FD site still makes pet vaccines for Zoetis that Zoetis has the rights to sell in other countries. When BI bought FD pet they only got domestic and a couple other countries. That is the entire reason why they are selling FD pet. Merial pet may be smaller market share, but the global rights make it worth it.

Can you assholes STFU with arguing about the stupid vaccines?! Who cares where they went?! 27 people lost their jobs this week. That's the important story.
