2017 IT Cuts

How many this time? Who is getting hit?

 

There will be a five percent hit across the company. They first need to get as many as they can in the voluntary exit. The rumor is they do not believe they will get those numbers. Same old story at Lilly. Rinse and repeat every couple of years.

 

So is this %5 for IT or for all of Lilly?

 

Lilly IT is a lean, mean and innovative machine. Look for more hires in the coming months.

 

Is CIO Ina Kamenz still there? How is her performance to date?

 

She was canned before her 2 year anniversary. She accomplished zero while she was here.

 

Remember, IT cuts only come in the Summer or October. So, expect IT cuts to come at some point. While IT is "hiring" right now, cuts are to come for sure. Six Sigma already cut to the bone. What is there left there? 3 or 4 people? The rest of IT is going to be cutting soon. Remember, the mantra..."cut the old and preserve the new". Anyone with points is on the chopping block. Ricks MUST meet his numbers.

 

This is true. There are many cuts already being made and their hope is that new college hires get up to speed quickly. The sciences have already cut greatly. IT cuts will follow after that. They need to get the young blood in first and get them trained up. Expect IT reallocations within a year.

I do not think it will take a year. They already cut many open positions and it will be less than a year before they go after IT again. Ricks won't let a good opportunity to hit IT go by.

 

Lilly needs these aging white men to keep their archaic email systems running. Live long Lilly IT.

 

The cuts, at least at the top, have already started. Veeps are running scared. Rice announced his retirement. Looks like Ricks is shaking it up. Moire fallout to come. It never just rests at the top. The shaking will go to the ground level.

 

Is it done for 2017? Predictions for 2017 - more cuts, or growth for IT?

 

So I've seen Phealon and Perez go - who else? Any cuts outside Indy or is it just the US?

I have heard that almost all IT roles outside US will be eliminated in 2018. Many would be filled by US staff. Does anyone know how true this is or have any details of the plan?

 

IT jerks need to be outsourced to India.
