As a long suffering zimmer biomet rep, I was excited for the new comp plan to rollout, having faith that sensibility would be restored and 2016 would be something we all look back at and laugh.

Now I have seen the 2017 plan. No longer a 5% sales commission, but a .5% sales commission. Yep you saw that right. One half of one percent. Exactly one tenth of what I was paid when I was hired. This is what zimmer biomet thinks of us reps. I want to say something clever, or hatch some master plan to make a positive change. But instead I want to spend my time redirecting my accounts to my competitors while I find a new job. Not only do I want to leave, but I want to burn my territory down on my way out.

A million dollar territory will pay an amazing $5,000 in commissions this year. Unless you are the rep in the example they demonstrated with the announcement that has a million dollar territory and has 35% growth this year. We all know that is very common in today's implant industry.

David Davorak, Adam Johnson, Brian Burke, what are you thinking? David Josza looks like the smartest person in the company right now. How does this comp plan motivate anyone? Are you just lowering operating costs to make dental look profitable and prep the division for sale?

What are you talking about? The 2017 comp plan hasn't been announced yet.

No company would be so dumb as to pay their reps a .5% commission. They would lose everyone.

    Dumb. Quit trolling.

"David Josza looks like the smartest person in the company right now."

Wow. You may want to consider a new opportunity at the earliest opportunity.

ps; .5% comm is bullshit. Not even Josza is that stupid.

To whoever doesn't think the Comp plan has been rolled out is WRONG all WRONG. It was rolled out and it is .5% so yes there will be a mass exit. They don't care about the reps they want this to be an entry level position.
    That is all.

Yep - new comp plan is an absolute joke. How can they justify this? I expect to see mass turnover this year. I will be pursuing other opportunities immediately.

there is no way this can be correct. So if you sell 2million in one year, you get 10k total commission?? Not buying it. Did they raise your salaries to like 120k or something?? This cant be true. Are you sure it's not 5%??

    Brian Burke's conference call:

"As you can all see we have worked super hard to make the comp plan simple to understand. You get .75% commission on the first and third week of the month, as long as the it is an even numbered month, and you make all your sales left handed. It is so easy to understand that we will be releasing a special commissions software so you can figure out what you can potentially earn."

Let me help you Mr. Burke. We know math isn't your strength, as demonstrated by you telling us on the call today that 1,250,000 in 2016 to 1,375,000 in 2017 is 5% growth. In reality that is 10%. As far as your commissions calculator goes, (any number) x zero, equals zero.

Thanks for deciding today that you no longer open the phone for questions at the end of your calls. Double thanks for telling the reps to call their managers. I cant wait for the calls I get to take the rest of the day. Let me just say I am glad I am not on this comp plan. I have no idea how I am going to keep a rep, or hire a replacement with any experience or moxie with this as their comp plan.

Oh it's 0.5%. But there are quarterly and year end kickers for exceeding your quotas. But you won't make more than 1% over the course of a year unless you blow our your number. You get 10% on $ above your year end number.

Everyone should be able to see this is a way for them to eliminate territories through attrition.
There will be a mass exodus and this comp plan does show they have no regard for their territory managers
Everyone should be glad there is no sales meeting this year so they don't have to see the leadership and pretend to like and respect them

    silly reps
    We don't need you
The business you sent us is OURS
    Not yours
If you are gone the business stays and we don't have to pay you any more
    Greed is good

"There will be a mass exodus and this comp plan does show they have no regard for their territory managers"

Mass exodus for where, the unemployment / welfare line for unemployable dental dipshits posing as salespeople ?

A simple case of Mind over Matter.

They don't mind and YOU DON'T MATTER ? Any questions, stupid ?

You're obsolete and un needed. You add No Value to any task. You're a disruption to the successful practice.

    DEAL with it.

    Boom!
    Absolutely correct
Feeing unwanted is a terrible thing
But so is peeing down your leg and made to believe it's raining.
If you can go get a job with a competitor and take their business
If you can't enjoy the warmness on your lower extremities

"If you can't enjoy the warmness on your lower extremities"

These deep thinkers that usually post here with their genius insights supporting these shit companies they so far get a minimal deposit from every two weeks or so think they are in professional sales and have a big future selling this overpriced crap to these imbecile dentists.

Soon, most of them will get that tap on the shoulder and hear: 'come see me before you leave today' discussion.

You retail territory people are a liability - at ALL levels. Your time is up. Hope you have put $ away for a rainy day and a career change. Problem is, the job market for know-nothing, unskilled kiss-asses is full. Your dental 'skills' do not cross over to anything - except maybe buggy whips. You'll need to bring your own kneepads. . .

Forecast for you is heavy rain, as far as the eye can see. What will all you idiots do for a living ?

why is there such a big turnover at Zimmer? Is it the comp plan? Is it high quotas? Just curious as I was contacted by a recruiter and want to know a bit more about the company before I have a second interview . Thank you in advance.

If you enjoy a .5% commission plan then take the job. That is not a joke, it is really .5% and the "leaders" in Florida could care less about the sales reps.

So are reps leaving? Is product shipping or backorders still a problem? How can they support specialists?

Terrible 2017 comp plan. The division's focus is obviously a push for a junior rep role to take a 60 base and make 85 at plan. This is a given since most of the leadership has washed out and the dental division turned over 100+ reps during the merge in a two year period. Piss poor management consultants I'd say or simply not a sales focused company that is too content with loosing market share.

Honest feedback from the outside looking in.....

85 at plan??"??? My base is 82. Made 143k last year. Not my best year but I hit my number at have a large volume territory. Top reps can hit 175k plus.
