WIC facilities don't send blood samples to lab. To assess the anemic status of their pediatric and female patients they rely entirely on Masimo's sphb "technology." Way to go Masimo!! 20,000 pediatric sphb tests in TX!! Big win!! You guys are totally killing it out there!! Keep up the good work!

That's but a single order for one small WIC region in TX. Imagine annual volume across US. It's a horrific number but not as horrific as the situation at hand... inexcusable preventable risk to underserved infants, babies and women in US. WTF!

Be critical of any positive outlook reported for sphb. Nobody but wic is reordering that crap in the US. Masi's idea of reporting placements of & growing demand for SpHb is to donate truckloads of 'free' Prontos to developing continents, and commit them to sensor contracts and other joe-crafty IOU arrangements.

We wouldn't want to know how many tragic outcomes this is creating. Shame on masimo for this.

How about an update on that FDA warning Letter?? We're coming up on 3 years folks. Is there no urgency at Masimo to clear this thing out by complying with FDA's minimum safety requirements? What a joke!

Look how many other med companies got warning letters that year or more recently, and have already cleared them out! You'd think with all Masi's resources and connections, the FDA inspection would have been a memory long before it became a warning letter. Maybe patient safety compliance requires more action than say...making pledges over cocktails.

in theory... consciousnegligenceness in med device manufacturing is a heinous and punishable crime
but in reality not really. (Just ask Joe.)

In theory i shouldn't be interviewing at other companies while on the clock at masimo expensing my travel and printing fees.

Avenging the fraudulent act of a scumbag by committing an act of fraud against the scumbag only makes you an avenged fraudulent scumbag.

If that's all they were found guilty of
    Then they got off easy.
bet they consider this loss a victory.

Try this on for patient safety.....
"the two Masimo devices at issue, Pronto and Pronto-7, which non-invasively measure hemoglobin in the blood, were unreliable and inaccurate, did not meet the specifications the company claimed for the devices, and put patients at risk."

Before we unjustly poo-poo sphb, joe would ask that we revisit the true meaning of piece of crap and consider His patented *masimonian re-definition.
