Please put down your kook aid. 75%nof patients discontinue this drug. Buying this drug from NPS was a big mistake. Even my manager told me that.

 

The majority of the salesforce is out there hunting alright...hunting for a new job! It's not a matter of if; it's a matter of when they sell off this dog of a franchise.

 

GI was the best place to be at Shire with RA and DB leading this once great team but not anymore. Underpaid RBM's are biding their time praying something better comes along.

Interesting is that before Shire bought NPS, only about 30-40% of patients discontinued. There is a reason for that. The discontinuations have nothing to do with the drug and everything to do with the disease and how it is managed. The problem is that now there are a bunch of sample dropping primary care reps that don't have a clue how to teach a physician and patient what to expect and how to handle certain situations.
With that being said, yes Shire did overpay for NPS....worked out well for the NPS folks...we got paid!

The GI team never had to sell until Gattex. It was all managed care coverage and copay cards. Micromanagement on steroids. Reach and frequency. Calls per day. Calls to targets. Calls to A/B/C's. Fingertip formulary. Rep triggered mail. Lialda Direct tracking. Sync daily. Kiss ass daily especially upper managements. Blah blah blah. The GI team was too busy playing the game with all the primary care check the box CYA bullshit. Now most of GI with exception of a few have to figure out how to sell because we can't blame it on the Gattex reps anymore.

 

Gattex loses money for Shire. Lialda will be gone soon, along with the GI division. Sorry but that's the reality. Good luck to you.

Well they are both idiots. So I think we have another year. They can't admit what a fuck up the GI Gi vision has become.
