Now that Apria went with Molnlycke. Molnlycke went with Tally and your LTC company went with KCI, it looks like you guys are pretty much on your own. I like the pump but the organization and the chance for success seems a long shot.
Apria had numerous customers complaining about pump functionality. The system had fluid gathering in tubing and left at wound site. Customer service (800) recommended poking a pin hole to help the problem.
This is a real problem and widely known. Had a wound clinic tell my customer these pumps are a risk to the patient.
The reason why wound site was macerated and there were issues with the Pump - was not with the pump itself but the pump tubing and the dressing tubing. It was all single-lumen. Not good. As of July - the tubing has been upgraded to the double lumen just like KCI so you will not have the "pooling" at wound site or have any "fluid locks". The Swiss DO make a great pump and more clinicians I know love using the pump that not.
How’s that? Fantastic response from someone responding to an old thread from a competitor ... Own your own game/market
