I once heard Joe Papa say at a conference that people over the age of 55+ and older demand 7x spend as much on ophthalmology as someone in their 20-30's. is this true? If so, wouldn't that mean with the aging baby boomer population B&L would be well positioned to meet the ophthalmology needs of a big demographic that is growing in size? I am hearing Alcon is not doing so well, Novartis is trying to get rid of it.
