We've all seen people like you who slide into midlife thinking they have everything all figured out. We're all familiar with your type of 'hardening of the categories'. It leads later into a bitter, 'you kids get off my lawn', approach to social interaction. You slowly shrink and wither away. You never do learn to engage in 2 sided conversations, examining different viewpoints. You become the quintessential bitter curmudgeon.
