We have been hearing more and more corporate jargon lately. It's coming from all directions- sales leaders, HR, "sales excellence" department, etc. What are some of your favorites? You all know what I'm talking about...
"What great looks like". Ironically, this is typically uttered by people who are not great at what they do.
Speaking of engagement, has anyone heard the latest results of the Hologic engagement survey this year? Seems they should have shared that by now? Is there something they're not wanting to talk about regarding the horrendous results they've probably seen. Hmmmm
They've been shared, you probably just have a poor leader who hasn't taken the time to discuss the results with you.
I don't think all these surveys tell the whole story. A lot of people were not honest because they were afraid. It's not hard to figure out who said what. Did anyone else feel pressure?
I wasn't afraid to give my honest feedback. What's the worst thing that happens, they fire ya? What a loss...
The engagement survey is total bs. We were told, as managers, how to coach our team to respond to each question. Leadership is not accountable. If there's an engagement issue, that's the fault of low level people. Management is why B-----a is still in development, 4 years late. If they miss a number they cut R&D, then wonder why more work isn't getting done with less bodies. Valenti and Kelly have to go.
"Ask" is not a noun. Count the number of times someone says "the ask" in HOLX meetings. Stupid bizspeak.
engagement surveys are done the same way anywhere you go. Deal with corporate life or get out cry baby. Sales sucks. Working sucks. But you will always have to do it if you want to make any real money so shut up. Stop crying and go do your job or find another one. No one cares about anything any of you have to say.
