lol, I'm not sure what you think you nailed. If Pfizer were to drop the hammer on the bullshit that their reps pull, then ninety percent of the field force would be fired and the only ones left would be the 24 year olds they hire cause they're desperate for a job and too dumb to know how underpaid and overworked they are.

As for me, I only feed the machine as much as I need to not get noticed, which is what I recommend to the other colleagues who don't want to go insane.

I fake it on Friday so I don't have to work the other days. My manager seems happy with my performance.

And has been and will continue for many years. Most experienced reps work when they want to. If you have the numbers, no one will even question what you do. Hell, most managers work maybe 3 days a week, the rest is "office" time. Wink, wink.
It's a very simple job that nearly anyone with half a bran can do and excel in doing it.
Do you really think Drs want to see us on Fridays? Do you really think you accomplish much on Friday ? Stay home, fudge the stupid calls and enjoy life as a pharma rep should.
That's why we took these jobs, freedom, security and the great money. What else does it offer?

Security???? Really? Agree with other 3 points but security is certainly not the case-not like it was years ago.

Friday AM, Lunch but Pm??? Back when I was new and freshly shot out of the brainwashed training ,,,hit a clinic on a late beautiful summer afternoon (almost 4PM) ...front desk ladies said I was crazy... all the high Rx'ing docs were gone (playing golf) for the afternoon...a P.A. and the new guy doc - who could have cared less and not on my call plan even- was all there was left in building...walked out to car after that and said to myself "what the hell am I doing here?"

Get out early on a Friday; too much to finish on their time. Starbuck's was a great invention for the pharma sales rep. More hours are planned there in the territory. What a sweet deal.
