I don't know..... but looking at a website that tracks Veterans Affairs contract with Nuvasive....$20-25,000 for each PEEK plastic hockey puck they hammer into spines?

    .....fast money....

...no....some of the individual contract orders go up to $45,000 for one spine implant...some of these are getting typed in the system as "surgical pre-authorization" to Nuvasive....which kinda got me thinking these are payments for an individual XLIF, the peek cage, and the Nuva tech and his nerve machine in the operating room....

But then....there are also $80,000 and $125k payments for cases of peek cages.........hmmm...

    I'm calling BS!
What site is that? No way is an XLIF cage being billed out at $25K - even at the VA.

Now, back to the OP, if you like micro management and being forced to sell snake oil biologics, Nuvasive is great!!

    Good products, bad culture.

ALL Spine companies have questionable culture. NUVA makes some of the best products (no I don't work for them- I worked for Globus for a while, but am out of the industry now). If you have surgeon relationships that you can move, the products stand up- especially if your guy/gal is a minimally invasive centered doc.

I've been in Med device for awhile (incl spine) and have friends with 15-20 yrs exp. looking to get out of the industry. What motivated you to leave the industry and where did you go?
