All I have to say was the ride up was alot more fun than the ride down...Lifetime pharma guy (including stints in management) pushed out at 50...

All the IRAs and savings have been raided, house sold, no health insurance, and living out of my SUV now on a VERY limited monthly income.

Sock away those sheckles all ye' bag carrying detail folk out there...

The good times don't last forever - trust me.

Why did you not, as you say "Sock away those sheckles"? At this stage in your career you should have saved quite a bit of money.

No one, I repeat no one ever reaches retirement age at Merck. If you think they do, name someone. What you see is people around you the same age and you will say they had a bad year or their attitude went bad. Well one day you will have a bad year or people will say your attitude is bad and everyone around you will slowly be let go. So save your money and be prepared because this is the way it is working in the pharmaceutical industry. Start now before its too late.

Oh but I did!! I saved a ton...but you have no idea how fast it goes when you have
no real income coming in...Especially if you live in one of the 3 most expensive states
    in the West...

I thought I was going to have a pretty decent retirement but when you get pushed out
of the work force 15 years earlier than planned, stuff happens...

I was a saver!! It just is difficult with no job and just living on interest income....

    ugh!

Maybe it's time to get a real job. The fake job Merck gave you made you lazy.

True 'dat...It did make me lazy but I seem to be too old to get hired anywhere,
and there is no way I will work a commission-only sales job. I found out once I
got out of pharma, that I hate real sales...pharma is definitely not real sales.

too funny...Yes, Pelosi and the rest of her Kooky Kalifornia cronies...They have their own "make believe" laws of economics, which are roughly akin to Robin Hood's...She should be in prison as should Soetoro, Holder, Lynch, etc.

Ted Cruz should be arrested for impersonating a pastor and spousal abuse.

They act Kooky but they are as sly as a fox. This is the systematic destruction of the USA. The USA will be bought down from within not by a foreign power. Obama was "Kooky" on steroids. His goal was to bring the USA down to its knees. It will take more than 8 years to accomplish that. Obama needed another term. Anyone that has common sense and understands laws of physics and how things function knows this.

Give everything to those that don't produce and punish those that produce financially and productively. This is the blue print that has turned other countries into dictatorships. There is only one solution to counter this force. Vote to keep the tyrants out of office.

If you notice the US Presidential elections and where the votes are concentrated you can this this trend. Look at the counties won for Republicans and Democrats in the entire country. The great majority of geography is overwhelming Republican - the party of freedom. The democratic majorities are concentrated primarily in the entitlement / welfare majority areas.

At a certain point when the leftists trying to bring down the USA run out of other peoples money i.e. the workers and producers, the country will go belly up!

Remember vote the anti left ever election if you want to still be living in a Free USA!

Excellent post...very true...the scary thing is that the Kenyan would have won that third term if he had been allowed to run...at a certain point, the bottom of a rotten trash can falls out, and America (thanks to liberalism and social engineering) has been allowed to rot for too long. You are correct to say the USA will be brought down internally.
