Recently looking into Stryker Foot & Ankle positions. Any former reps that can give any details on typical day, extent of anatomical knowledge needed before/after beginning position, difficulty of maintaining sales goals, pros/cons to this position? Compensations? Etc. Would also be interested in information for similar positions and their corresponding company

Typical day: Depends on your territory. If you have business it's 6:30am until 2pm in the OR. If you don't have business it's 8:30am until 3pm calling on docs doing lunchs and dinners.

Anatomy: there on only 28 bones in the foot, if it's difficult for you to learn the names and ligaments in the foot get out of medical sales. They'll train you, but you need to know that stuff before.

Sales goals are meant to be difficult, but it mostly depends on your manager.

Foot and ankle is a really crowded market and Stryker isn't don't very much that's new and exciting. They get decent pull through with contracts.

Look at wright medical, arthrex, paragon28

I would bet 150k is a top 10% foot and ankle guy at Stryker or most companies

well now it looks like we will all be looking for new jobs since they decided to shut this whole operation down. I'm glad I wasted a great opportunity to join another Orthopedic company only to come here a few months ago thinking this place was growing. Boy was I wrong. Thanks Stryker!

Yeah I knew that but how is that bad? I’m offers more help like delivering trays, getting pos, etc. why do you feel like it’s not good model? They did that in other areas and it worked great

what is going on here? make this kind of announcement and then stay quiet for two months?

The model failed due to the f&a division failing to agree to committing to a intense power lifting program as well as monthly testosterone injection established by the trauma neanderthals.

Aka all the trauma dickheads would bogart all of the elective cases cuz all they do is sit around at one account all day reading pump you up magazine waiting to open up some boxes. Not even one armed push up contests and thumb wars could fix this bs situation.

Stryker Foot and Ankle is a joke and going away. I work in the division currently and am trying to get out like there is no tomorrow. They lied about everything and I left a successful independent gig in Ortho to come here. They now are rolling us into the branches and won't tell us if we even have a job. They lied about territory potential , car allowance which they took away because I guess the CEO needed an extra million and the base pay. They also do a POD socialized sales model which if you get tied to an idiot lazy loser you can't overcome. Stay away from Stryker. All divisions are losing people and the perception of the company is not the reality, STAY AWAY.....

This was always the plan. Start the division and pay good $ to attract top talent. Car allowances, etc.. It worked. Within five years F&A caught up to Wright. Then take away some of the perks, $, and eventually roll it back into Trauma where it belongs. This was always the plan and if you don’t believe it then you’re naive. From a business standpoint it makes perfect sense. The division will be more profitable and that is good for the shareholders. Unfortunately, many people get screwed but one year from now no one will care. It will just be Stryker Orthopaedics. It’s business. Get over it and move up or move on. Hoo RAH!!

Doesn’t make any difference to me. I’m a heavy tray liftin, Box openin, doc convertin, high scorin Gallup takin mofo and I don’t care if F&A is in the bedpan division....I’m here to do two things. Bench 405lbs and hit quota....and I just maxed out at 415!

No one at Stryker cares about F&A except F&A. It represents only 2% of the annual revenues. Get over it. You’re lucky to even be at Stryker.

I was with the division for a couple years, did leave due to some leadership issues. Wished I never left for a while, now I'm glad I did. Some great reps and few solid managers in that division. They are getting rid of all the managers.. even the guys that started the division? Scott in East / Erik in the West created the whole thing. F&A sales will drop off in the branches in 6 months, with a lot reps leaving after NSM, and the number will be made up with a couple joint docs converted. They don't care... glad I got out when I did.

wrong you idiot. Those guys didn’t “create” the F&A division. It was started long before that with MacMillan and led by Popeck and the guys under him.

The animal on the right is a cat and this guy fucking gets it. You work for Stryker. You’re lucky. Keep selling, beating out shitty case stalkers and put your Stryker dick on everything. Also no skipping leg day.
