I am a BS level associate that is currently working in pre clinical development for the past 8 or so years (initially at a CRO and now at a mid size biotech). Interested in transitioning out of the lab (although not sure exactly what) and sales is area of interest. Just curious if anyone has made a similar move or know if certain companies/indications/etc are more receptive to those without prior sales experience.

Pharma "Sales" is not really sales so be aware of that. It is a catering job where you bring food in
so you can get the doctor to sign for samples. The job is a total joke...Probably not where you want
    to go with your career.

A good path for you would be to get a sales job and use your free time to earn your MBA or MPH. The company will most likely pay for your school and within a few years you will have a very nice background. Medical companies love the science background coupled with sales experience and MBA or MPH. Don't be tempted to stay in the field too long because you won't be gaining many skills in the field. Good luck!
