Leeds got canned for unethical practices along with many members on his team who pretend to work but are home babysitting the kids and expense unauthorized items etc. Schilk also was canned.

Wow, a whole thread devoted to Abbott employees who are Diabetics! Must be an awful lot of them, judging by the # of posts.

ADC was one strange place to work.

When strips became commodity and Obama care reduced the reimbursement from Medicare and Medical all hell broke loose. Revenues fell, layoffs, etc, etc. Then Libre showed up and revenues stabilized. ADC will be in deep shit when Libre get some serious competition and nobody wants it anymore.

I suppose lots of turmoil creates many posts.

You are outside of Dunky's circle and will be notified when your services are no longer needed.

That competition has already arrived. The FDA approved the new Dexcom system a few months ago. This includes a patch pump, which Libre never will have. And there are several others due for approval in 2017.

Abbott management are well aware of this and always have been. Libre is about window dressing ADC for sale, hence no patch pump, FDA approval or design pipeline.

ADC cannot survive in its present form. Massive layoffs and consolidation to a single site are inevitable.

Save the smack talk Steve. ADC was built on being the underdog and pulling off the upset. We are the little engine that could and history has proven this. ADC has a knack for outlasting the so called bigger and better competitors. Life scan, Roche, Bayer...... RIP.... Adc train rolls on.

I remember at ADA back in 2009 I was approached by some former ADC employees and others stating that ADC was on the block. The rumors have always been the same. Finish CGM so they can sell us, finish a new meter so they can sell us, do insulin pumps so they can sell us, on and on and on.

It's pure bullshit. If Abbott wanted to dump ADC they would have done it a long time ago. Maybe upper management was considering it but they waited too long. Maybe it was never under serious consideration.
Who knows? But eight years is a long time for the same rumor. Face it, we will only know the fate of ADC when it happens.

You just said nothing. Typical adc

Yup your right. That's because we know nothing.

Eight years for a rumor is pretty stupid. Get tired of my coworkers telling me that Miles will sell us at any minute. Read the same crap here.

Get the numbers today. Should be interesting.

There was a plan to sell the ADC business. Hardly surprising as the other majors have been trying to do the same - Lifescan even said as much on a press release. Strips just aren't profitable any more.

Lifescan will be sold ahead of ADC because of its superior cost profile and market position. But there is no sign of a Lifescan deal so logically Abbott are stuck with ADC for now.
