Seems no internal hires have gotten a phone screening. Yet heard from a Novartis friend that posted for the biologics position that he had screeningS and was told end of the month for face to face. Looks like the Oncology expansion, all external hires. Why do AZ folks even apply for these higher paying sales?
If you were the hiring manager would you want a cry baby primary care reps who brag about not working and figures out ways to cheat the system or a rep who is already selling in IV, is professional and has contacts in hospitals and infusion centers?
What are you talking about? I know several internal candidates that have not only had FTF interviews, but have also been offered spots on the bio team.
Listen, selling Oncology products is a skill. We don't need any Deer in Headlights primary care reps in this division!!!
Just like all Pharma reps were at one time I experienced new hires, where do you think virtually all oncology reps come from? The ranks of primary care reps! They don't descend from Heaven on a cloud!
Yes it does require skills. It is a very difficult disease state to understand and relay this information in a skillful way to the person at the front desk. Much different then speaking to the front desk personnel about respiratory disease. What a difference you are making! Congratulations on your devine intervention to get into oncology without any prior pharma experience!
Hindsight is 20/20. Leadership did FINALLY learn that after hiring the first expansion team from within the PC ranks. Now it seems they are, by contrast, a huge embarrassment to oncology. So much so, that all of those that came from PC are being re-trained. They definitely need to start in the West!!
