    This industry has officially lost it. All I see now are women with ankle tattoos, men with lots of hairspray, and lots of very stupid people in management.

    LISTEN YOUNG PROFESSIONALS: Find a better industry.

    This place will destroy you.

    I do not want any of you to have a heart attack because of the nonsense that you will surely endure if you continue to pursue a career in this place.

    Thank you for the advice.
    I am going to find sales opportunities outside of a larger corporate structure. The truth is that the best sales positions are outside of the publicly traded companies, with a company culture that is not greedy and respects each other.

    Just one for me. The stress from this job just can wear ya down. Key is to just get by and screw the company whenever you can, because its the people that do this that last and have a good life. The hard workers are the ones with the heart attacks, and also the ones that get downsized because there is no loyalty.

    so very true...stupid me...I was hard working and overly conscientious and it got me pushed out at 50, bordering a nervous breakdown, and PTSD I still struggle with.

    This isn't just a recent event. It began several years ago when incompetent managers, like ex clothing sale managers, were hired and demanded reps sell complicated drugs like selling bras and pantsuits. They in turn hired pushy, arrogant, ex cheerleaders, ball players, adding machine reps, etc; to push drugs as they did widgets. They didn't know ganglion from a gutter, so physicians began banning them from their offices. It has only gotten worse. Sad, sad, as out incompetent, idiot president would say.

    When pharma executives could no longer sell science, they opted to sell sex (appeal) and it has backfired
    on the industry in dramatic fashion.
