Yes, you get full benefits if you work 6 or more months. You get less, if you are 6 months or less. Just apply after you get your last check.

You want back in? You must be desperate. The recruiters are tacky and useless...overly personable on the front end and then disappear.

They'll over prep you and will send you away to interview, then they can't even follow up afterwards or reply to your emails. So much for "prioritizing past inventiv folks".

They only care about putting bodies in front of the client and don't offer much about the jobs up front. If you're willing to spend 1-2 days traveling for a job you don't know much about, then go for it!

Not sure what you are talking about. Most of the people from my team have had interviews and job offers already. Maybe you're just not a good rep ever think that's why you're not getting interviews and the recruiters don't want to keep in contact?

This response comes from someone dumb and dumb is just how inventiv likes their employees. The recruiters don't know if someone is a good rep. They have zero info on people when they apply besides their generic resume and application. They have thousands of resumes they sort through and if youre lucky yours gets chosen, simple as that. There are too many employees and too many contracts to bother with connections and knowing who is a good rep. This is why displaced reps dont get placed more quickly than the average joe applying on the website. Everyones resume goes in the same pile and count yourself lucky if yours is pulled.

And this is why they lose track of patients during trials and don't have accountability of employees and in some case records. It's why try are getting sued.

Yes and no. If you have accomplishments and a track record of working for good companies or even a good school on the resume, you are going to get a look.

You are right about this industry though in many ways. So many people are trying to get in, and will fabricate shit to do it. But, in reality, most of them suck at selling. In fact, I speculate that about 1/2 of pharma reps really suck at selling. About 1/4 are OK. And then you have about 1/4 that are good at it. Out of that 1/4, you have a handful that are top notch professionals. Its not an easy job at all, when done correctly.

The truth is nobody gives a shit anymore. This industry is exposed. Smart people don't work in this industry either, because they know most of the products do more harm than good.

Leave this industry to the truly ignorant, they deserve it.

The GSK contract is going through a reorg at the moment. Have a feeling that many will be displaced. Doesn't seem like inVentiv has enough open positions on other contracts to place everyone, so I guess we'll see what they do. I'm thinking that a lot of employees will just be left kicking rocks.

There are never enough contract jobs and Quintiles and Inventiv just laid off 400 reps last Friday on the Janseen contract.

Take all your vacation days if you get laid off! inVentiv pays out only 30% of your accrued vacation time - they basically steal it from you. If you are due an vacation pay AT ALL once your contract is over it will delay your unemployment so just take the time off before your last day. Unbelievable - it is so unethical.

After the contract is up.. you better hope they have immediate need for new contact and your old DM (if she liked you) will be on the new contract....but its all supply demand..250 reps let go and no new business ,, keep in touch is about all you'll get .. huge oversupply over tenured experienced reps plus more new comers that hadn't lived thru the culling years of pharma downsizing.

inVentiv does NOTHING for displaced reps, regardless of your success. I was #2/4 in the country on 2 different contracts, recently laid off only to receive an ad from a friend about a job fair that the inVentiv team was going to be at---to recruit??? WTF? You've laid off plenty of high performers, they are still looking and you continue to recruit.
This is not how a respectable company operates....but who am I fooling. inVentiv is not a respectable company....
