I finally picked up my new sparkling clean bare bones vehicle. WTH? How much extra is it really to get a decently equipped vehicle? I'm all about being frugal, but come on!

Honestly probably not far off it at this point, considering they get all the benefits of the tax write off and we do not. You factor that with bulk ordering and leasing a $199 a month car and we are paying $185, they may even be making a few bucks on it, tax wise!

When I first came here, personal charge was $30 or 35, work life balance was like another $20...and we had $35,000 cars on offer. 9 or 10 of them.

Every year the company gets stingier.

Car allowance is coming, mark my words.

A car allowance would be better. At least I wouldn't be pigeon-holed into shelling out $280/month for a car I don't want. I'd be more than happy to have them give me $200 a month and let me go get what I want.

ok so you think paying 280. Is too much for a vehicle where gas insurance maintenance and more is covered??? Fool!

I have been here since 2006 and of course remember when the monthly car charge was $50 to $75 ish, and we had Audi A3, Volvo S40, or the nicer lifestyle Caravan and Explorer choices as well. That was then.

Now, I'm thankful to drive the so called "bare bones" company car and not have to worry about spilled food, door dings, maintenance, depreciation, damage, insurance, gas, etc. Even at the higher charge, it is still a very good deal. It is a new car.

Buy another car for after hours or the weekend if you don't like the company car.

It is posts like this that if I were someone at corporate thinking about our overly entitled and spoiled reps complaining constantly about cars I would shake my head. There are lots of folks who would be happy to have the car we drive each day.

    Be thankful, or not.

Do you know what a car allowance is? That doesn't mean the company no longer pays for those things. And, if they don't, you get to claim all of it on your taxes. Talk about a fool....

I know what a car allowance in pharma is and yes it includes all of those things. My friend who has a car allowance said he would rather have the company vehicle His write off doesn't justify the depreciation plus his company dictates that it's a late model car
Why don't you find a job that has a car allowance and just STFU ?

Get lost! If my money is paying for it, I should be happy.

You pay taxes, don't you? There are plenty of things you pay money for that probably don't make you happy.

How many miles until we get to order a new one?

To save costs, the company policy now states "drive that fucker until the wheels fall off." Once the wheels fall off, you will receive an email from Fleet.

70k. Sometimes you can get the order if you're close and projected to be over.

My new fleet car is the worst car I've had during my 12+ years in Pharma. Truly unacceptable. Question to Andy and Doug: Are you expected to drive company cars that are stripped down and nothing you personally would ever purchase? Just checking.

If it's really that bad, and it's really that important to you, then go find a job that will give you the greatest car you've ever dreamed of. You understand that you don't HAVE to work here, right? The job is what it is - either take it or leave it.

You just dont get it do you? Novo has always stood out in the way it TREATED its employees. Thats what brought many of us here. You worked hard and were rewarded with things other companies didnt provide - top of the line cars, nice xmas presents, good systems of personal reward - not way to go points. Now since the cost cutting moves its become nothing more than an AZ or a Pfizer. And the same response you give is the same responseIve heard from Andy time and time again - dont like it leave. what they dont realize is talent aint coming here anymore. If those that care leave...its a never ending loop
