Everyone thinks they know. Thy don't have a clue. Then they resort to classless comments. But you know that's what makes the world go round huh? I'm glad I found my career. I'm not glad that someone decided to terminate someones income and career at the top of his game. But this is what happens. In the end the folks who do the firing couldn't eat if they had to sell. Oh well not bad not working. You should see my lawn it's perfect! And my swimming pool is like glass. hahahahahahahahahahaha

Hey Burt....Pat Magner here. I always had a tremendous amount of respect for you. Only the hard workers with saavy last as long as you. You built Biomet in New York. No questions asked. I just retired in March. It's great.
Time to step away and enjoy the fruits of your hard work.
Best of luck to you and your family.

Thank you Pat. Here's the long and the short of it. When we were terminated for no rational reason I stayed on to manage one specific account that I spent much of my career in. I remained for three years until the sale of Biomet to Zimmer. That's when I decided to resign. Six months later I accepted a position with Stryker in a similar position. I left voluntarily after about 10 months. Then Zimmer Biomet came knocking and a few days before I was going to re-join them I came to my senses and changed my mind. Since then I have had offers but decided against them. I can remember like it was yesterday when I received a call from the individual who terminated us admitting it was probably a mistake. I wonder where he is now? But in life everything happens for a reason. And the reason was simple. With the love I had for my career and the help we all give if we do it right, I was about a year or two away from saying goodbye to Biomet. Of course I wanted to go out on my terms instead of being ambushed with no notice. Biomet was a wonderful company when I became their Distributor in the New York Metropolitan Area in 1985. As the years went on the company got more difficult to work with and as the people changed the culture did as well. When Dane Miller left the writing was on the wall in my opinion. In the end I was very fortunate and found my life's calling in a career. Now if this "cigarette smoking smelly clown" who did nothing for a paycheck, lol who prior to Biomet was a Registered Nurse, can find his career I'm sure with a little motivation many can.

Thanks for the kind words Pat.

Understood. The best of luck in whatever you choose to do. Sometimes some of us need to just walk away.

Burt, I won't identify myself, but I worked "inside" at Biomet for many years and had the opportunity to work with you in the NYC area several times. I found you to be a dedicated, sincere distributor who I admired for your success and ability to manage and grow your business. I too, left the company on my own terms after the merger with Z. It was time and I left on my own terms. Now retired and enjoying being on my own schedule rather than someone else's. I look back at many, many years in orthopedics with pride, satisfaction and blessings that I had the chance to know and work with people like you. Job well done Burt....may your retirement be full of success/

Thank you all for your kind words. And for the individual who called me a smelly clown who just took a pay check. May the worst things happen to you now and for the rest of your useless existence. Because sometimes in life forgiveness is overrated.
