So my name is Andrew and I'm the rep in Detroit quoted above. A friend recently told me about this website so I thought I'd correct the comment from above. (It does anyone reading this seriously a disservice to hear (and believe) false statements like above).

To set the record straight, yes, in FY'12 I was rep of the year...and NO, I did not make $400K in compensation from Terumo that year.

That being said, if you are a competent medical device professional and you enjoy the endovascular space, Terumo is very solid company. Between the quality products with existing high marketshare (I'd rather sell a BMW than a Yugo), decent quality of life (no pager or call - I came from Ortho/trauma - I should know), overall comp plan, and longevity of career for performers - there aren't many better places to be.

This is just my personal opinion, but I'd rather take a consistent $200K-$250K for the next 15 years with the most conservative company in our space over job jumping every 3-4 years for the chance to hit $400K every once in a while (and also having those inescapable $150K down years) any day of the week.

To each their own I guess, but for those who are either in the space or considering the space - Terumo is a very solid decision.

I worked for Terumo Interventional. Hated the job due to selling a commodity and jockying with reps for lame lab days. In many cases, docs would pull the product for whoever had a lab day that day. Felt very superficial. Sales director Brian Moody is also a snake in the grass. I wouldnt recommend Terumo.

Interesting reading about an FDA warning letter about Destination production. Given that all eggs are in the Japan basket and no backup, this sounds concerning for Terumo.

I see they are hiring a Supply Chain Director again. This is the 3rd one in 4 years. seems like a revolving door in that area. Either that or tough environment to work in or tough people to work with.

So I was recently contacted about a job with Terumo as a field sales rep (Territory Manager) and when I started doing my DD, people told me to stay far away and that Rome is burning. I googled and saw some recalls, etc. What gives? Can anyone shed some insight?

For the last 5.5 years I have worked around 70- 80 hours a week for ......... selling capital and building and supporting robotic surgery programs. My W2 last year was 340k and most years 270-290k with a target of 230K.

    Describe Your Greatest Achievement

Beyond my 3 boys. It would be starting my own company at age 24 with $5000 and 1 employee and building it to 7 locations and 300 employees with over 1.2 Million per year in revenue and over $30 million in client sales annually.

What Interests you about this Position?
How long do you expect to remain employed with this company if hired?

Considering I don't know what product(s), territory, total comp potential I am not sure how interested I am yet. This sounds like a good opportunity for a newer med device rep. This sounds like it would be great fit for my wife who is looking to get back into device sales after taking time off to raise our boys who are all in school now.

Hello same happened to me...it was super weird I agree. What was the outcome? Is this a scam?

  11. anonymous

    anonymous Guest

Yes, its a scam. Terumo does not recruit via chat and is a Japanese based company so no stock options exist for US employees.

Same case here! But was asked to invest $635 on company soft wares to be eligible for training sessions. Same guys Douglas Stanton providing job interview thru chat by Google Hang-Out apps and Jennet Newman HR first contact thru email.
