What is the compensation for an outside sales rep?

 

Base starts at 70k, bonus $55k. But most people have goals so high that they will never make that. Some reps may only make $10k in bonus for the year. Be sure to ask how many territories actually made goal. They've changed the comp plan many times and cant get it right. Also 124k total is lowest industry at plan...the competitors are around $140k. Starkey provides car allowance and gas receipts (which does not cover wear and tear or depreciation), all the other companies provide Fleet vehicles. Territory sizes vary too...some reps can go home every night whereas others have a lot of time in hotels, but all reps have the same compensation plan/target payout.
