You must be a loser if you want this position. READ CAFEPHARMA. Don't dismiss the facts

Neuro is a great division with easy access and wide territory's with little rep competition. Take the position if offered.

It must be a great division. The turnover is huge and the complaints are rampant. People leave great divisions. Wake up. HR and management are selling these positions because they know the smart reps who understand Neuro would never join this train wreck.

I got a call for an interview this morning. Some job is better than no job.

You lie. They don't even have managers in place yet. No one has been contacted yet.

...and you laughed at the recruiter and said "no thanks I would rather work at McDonalds"

Is it possible you are the only person considering one of these positions?

    Neuro won't touch it.

Will be a great job and they are giving a very generous package of stock along with high base (130+ for those with neuro experience) and solid bonus plan (35k a year at plan). Ignore the negativity- the managers will all be hired soon and the salesforce will follow.

Oh and the drug has excellent data and is something the market has an unmet need for.

This post should read "ignore the reality". Why don't you discuss the 20% hold back on the bonus based on subjective measures. How about the micromanagement? In the past throughout Novartis, how many people actually hit 100% of plan? What about other division launches which were not considered successful and they made the goals unrealistic. The bottom line is do your own research. Talk to independent Neurologists and ask their opinion of the company and why the previous reps have left. This should answer most questions. Also go back through the posts on Cafe. Finally if it is a "great job" why are experienced reps not considering the opportunity?

    :p
Hahahaha couldn't agree more! Sad to say NV is getting worse and worse with KPI's and micromanaging in all divisions. Senior leadership is a joke. If you need a job, take it. If you don't, stay where you are

If you want to get rich- start your own business. If you want to earn 200k a year or more- go to a small pharma or biotech company (big time sales pressure and you deal with a completely different set of issues). If you want to earn 150-200k a year work in "specialty" sales at a big pharma company- do what you are told to do, shut up and you will never be held accountable to sales results. At the end of the day Novartis is a big pharma company- the drug is going to be great and the pay is good. Novartis has awesome retirement benefits. Its all in what you want.

Why aren't experienced reps interested? How do you know they aren't? Plus plenty of our MS team think they are much better than they are. They are just big pharma reps getting paid a specialty grade pay. And for the idiots that cry "you can get paid more at so and so"- then leave.

I've done in all. Startups, big pharma, little pharma and consulting- and trust me this job for the pay and lack of accountability is GREAT.

Its all what you can deal with on a daily basis. If you like an inexperienced manager telling you what and how to do your job then neuro is right for you. If you want to make a difference, use your skills, and have dignity at the end of the day - stay away. Just leave? Many, many, many did. The turnover is huge. I also have been in many different kind of positions/companies and by far the management here is the worst.

I was contacted by a NV recruiter late last week and told that I would be moved on to the hiring manager. Has the May 2018 news also slowed down the process at NV? Is mid-August still the target hire date? Are managers already in place? Any insight is appreciated.
