i can understand not responding to media over speculation. But an internal reassurance would have been not only appropriate but the decent thing to do.
Why? You think PS is in this for anything or anyone but himself? For crying out loud, more than 700 people were laid off in Dec while he takes a 68% increase. Look at his track record at Roche. He is in this only for stuffing money into his own pocket. He really doesn't care about the company he is running just as long as it enriches him.
That has been his M.O. everywhere he has been. He comes in making outrageous claims of great days ahead and then he proceeds to sell off assets and cut personnel to prop up the stock price. Then he claims that his brilliant leadership resulted in sustained dividends and elevated stock price. Then he leverages that to secure a pay increase and incentive package. Then he moves on to another company cashing in his stock options and securing his golden parachute. Same movie plot different theater.
