When I worked for BMS I started hearing about layoffs or getting bought out around 15 years ago. The rumors just keep coming. To all of you still working at BMS just keep on keeping on. Do your job help physicians and patients and let history unfold on its own. Ok maybe somebody will buy BMS or maybe not. Or maybe a merger of some type or maybe not.

Remember there is life outside of the walls of BMS or any other big pharma company. And who knows maybe you have had enough of the mindless job they call detailing anyway.

They have been systematically cutting headcount for at least 10 years. At this point they are addicted to it because it is the only tactic that they understand. Stick your head in the sand because it will never happen to you ;)

Not to worry. Pfizer is coming in on its white horse to save the day!

I know for a fact that Pfizer is considering a buyout now. They are evaluating the cost/ benefit ratio. We already are working with them on eliquis. They are interested in taking full control of that product along with Opdivo. Sure there have been some setbacks with the product but overall it has significant upside. Plus we have some cash we are sitting on and a decent pipeline. By end of year they are looking to make a decision.

Pfizer is interested in buying any company with decent products and good upside. They have to because they have non of their own.
Look at their history. R&D: Nothing, Layoffs, buy a company, layoffs, repeat, etc. They are incapable of surviving on their own.
In short, Pfizer sucks and will continue to destroy the pharma industry while providing nothing positive on their own.

Can we all just at least agree, with any layoffs, we need to fire Karen Smith already??? She's awful, nasty, a backstabber and been around since the invention of fire!
