LTC or SPECIALTY

Has anyone worked both and which do they prefer? Do they get paid the same?

I am a LASR doing very well and deciding if I would rather go NAM vs LTC.

What should I expext for a base/bonus upon promotion? This is my first pharma job and have been here less than 2 years.

And please dont spew some nonsense like "go to another company." Thanks

 

If you really are a LASR then
You should know what the LTC
reps do, do you like going in nursing homes ? If not LTC is not for you.

The NAMs basically call on Neuros and
Primary care in their offices. And do
have samples as LTC does not.
Also LTC doesn't have to deal with
Onzetra for migraine.
If the territory has decent Onzetra sales
might be good, if not much Onzetra
sales, forget it , go for the LTC.
Not many docs like the Onzetra powder
Up the nose. And not many patients
seem to be refilling their Onzetra scripts.

 

Both divisions are in serious HOT water. 2 months from now there will be VERY BIG reveal for the commercial team. I caution all you guys to gear yourselves, and your families for this. I am very disappointed in how this issue was managed. I cannot reveal, because only a few are privy to this info, and i cannot afford to out my identity. Managers will also be rocked.

if the big reveal is highly negative, like the poster claims, then no, we wont be hearing it ever because they're full of #%{. San diego will be all about the new MI and a bit of a rahrah.

Avanir is doing EXACTLY what the people want, new leadership, new HR, yet people still complain. I'm excited to see what the next few years bring.

I have noticed that the only reps who are on here bitching are the specialty force. You rarely ever see any LTC or Psych reps on here spewing their shit. If you don't like it here, go somewhere else. Don't run to CNN or spread false rumors. There are a lot of good people here trying to support their families. Do your job and you will be fine.
