I am going out to Chicago next week for a face to face interview. Is this company really that bad with all the new management or is a good place to get my feet wet in the pharma sales world? Any advice is helpful
go there, and TAKE THE OFFER People on here are idiotic. Search any pharma company on cafepharma and it's the same negative nonsense. I've been here a few months and love it. Pharma is 10x better than I hoped. Avanir is also fantastic. Huge leadership changes for the better! Goodluck
What division, neuro, LTC or psych ? Also I assume you are aware a floater is a position in which you are in a hotel 4 or 5 nights every week, in different cities as your filling in for reps on maternity/ sick leave or open territories etc. Some people wouldn't like to be gone from there home that much.
Take the job. Good way to get your foot in the pharma door. After 6-8 months start looking for another pharma company to work for. Avanir has a bad reputation and companies will understand why you want out. You will also get a bump in base of 10-20k. Use it as a stepping stone.
Avanir does have serious problems that have NOT been resolved yet. Why is State surveyors attacking Nuedexta for improper use at LTC facilities? DOJ investigation is partly focused on aggressive off label tactics in So Cal along with other regions. Why was the speaker program is suddenly cancelled. This is happening now and it only means Avanir is going to take on a lot of water in the next few months to years. The canary in the coal mine is our leadership leaving in droves. Rats only abandon a ship when it's about to sink!
