US Oncology VP hates legacy AZ Lung & WC

MW is on a mission to get rid of legacy AZ sales teams.
First she hires an external IO team at 30-40% higher salaries.
Then after the flop launch of Imfinzi, she moves them over to help Lung with Tagrisso.
Looking to move out all legacy AZ PSS from Lung with externals.
Next she axes GB to get full control of the transition.
Now WC is co promoting with Merck.
Heme is being hired at 30-40% higher salaries, totally externally.
The message is clear if you are a legacy AZ Oncology PSS, MW wants you to leave!
Actions speak louder than all the lies MW is telling!
Unfortunately those who disagree with MW, like GB get the boot!

 

Kudos to MW for getting rid of GB. He was a complete facade. He let cronyism ruin oncology with his buddies form PC. PK should absolutely be escorted out along with her friends an family of friends. DSMs that came from PC like BF, CH and MP are as toxic as they get and have no real grasp on the oncology marketplace. MW can get this ship steering correctly BUT, don't toss the baby out with the bath water! Oncology is and always be a relationship sale.

 

Kudos to MW! GB was as superficial as it gets and was never more than a facade. He brought legacy Oncology to ruin with his rampant cronyism with the likes of PK. PK went so far as to create a list of people she wanted to bring to oncology ONLY because they were friends or family of friends. MW can drill deeper and get rid of BF, MP and CH for starters. They will never be able to grasp the nuances of success in oncology because of their egos.
I like that MW is taking steps to get oncology steered in the right direction. But, don't throw out the baby with the bath water. Oncology is and always will be a relationship sale. Take good look at the relationships had by reps wth less than 3 years in their territories.

 

Is Gaby gone?

 

Any legacy Zeneca people who qualify for the defined pension, those few remaining, are first to be shown the door before the end of the year. Not just in Oncology, but across the board. AZ wants you gone to get you off the books and start with a clean slate of 401K only. They already cut the retiree health benefits program with a 25K lifetime max which will be gone for most people in less than 2 years.

 

Don't know. He is a good guy, approachable. He is however over his head. People need to remember before coming to the U.S., he was a promotions mgr. in Canada. Not a big role, but he knew people so he was fast tracked.

Just look at TB. He is in fact clueless and in no way should be a VP. Maybe a DSM.

 

I don't think they like any of the Zeneca legacy people anymore!! Want us gone!

 

MW heading to manage a 3rd world country for AZ! Thank you Pascal, for bringing DF back, we need a leader who believes AZ has a future and doesn't want to turn AZ into BMS.

 

Look to Novartis if you want to know what our future looks like. They will own us eventually and they don't need our people. AZ is run by brand teams fixed in silos. They compete with each other and their is no overriding company strategy. AZ simply reacts which is a short term strategy and doomed to fail.
