Big Managers Meeting today "Lay Offs" Inevitable

    Why leave when it isn't any better anywhere else? I'm going to ride this train until the damn wheels fall off.

    Well, we see now that it was a fake store front.
    The whole thing was propped up by the lack of real generic competition and frequent price increases. Oh, and our #1 competition was sold by the biggest joke in all of Pharma---Sanofi.

    That's a pretty tough assessment of things. We may not be experiencing the same double digit growth as we used to, but we're still growing with most other companies shrinking...plus, we have a good pipeline to continue to bring new things to the market. There are quit a few critics on here right now who point to multiple mistakes that we've made. I can say we certainly haven't bee perfect, but we continue to outperform the industry every single year. Something is going right, even if we have swung and missed on some things. No company is perfect, and NNI continues to be better than most. If you leave here, you might as well get out of the industry.

    Top performing specialty reps had to take DCS jobs in some regions or leave. The sad part is those specialty jobs were not eliminated but they put DCSs there instead. That's a big reason why good people are leaving.

    Dude, we were "better than most" because we specialized in diabetes, THE new pandemic of the new millennium. We also had the biggest pipeline…. but we also only had to beat the snot out of demotivated GSK, new-to-the game AZ and crappy Sanofi. We also pushed the $$ per vial cost often.
    Now AZ's long acting med is going generic. Merck is getting into there game, JUST as Januvia is losing patent. CVS Caremark and ESI are already drooling over Mercks version of biosim Lantus.

    Lets see how long that "better than most" lasts into 2018. Obviously, I hope that we will go back to the halcyon days, and our jobs will be secure. But hope isn't a strategy.

    You weren't better than most. Your company was more generous than most.

    You were strip mined by the Danes just as Sanofi US was stripped mined by the French.

    This industry is shot. Diabetes is a commodity. When glargine #3 comes out it's game over.

    You didn't start moving your products until you started a price war with Sanofi in the
    PBM arena.

    You discounted Levemir 75% and Sanofi's pride wouldn't match your discounts until it was too late and you carved out share.

    Victoza took off because it was once a day versus twice a day exantide. Trulicity is catching up rapidly. I'm sure your bosses best your balls over Trulicity gaining share. Hold them accountable bla bla bla.

    I agree...while there have been challenges, NNI is still better than most. No other company will spend the time to train employees the way NNI does, and our pipeline is strong. Whoever made the comment about not filling vacant spots is also not correct. Every company goes through change, and unless you live under a rock, you have experienced that in any place you have ever worked. You roll with it, or you step out. Stirring up panic is not the answer.

    Actually I would say Novo is NOT better than most. As far as training goes, what do you expect? With something like 80+ trainers, they need to do something with their time.

    Trust me, Novo is bloated across the board and with multiple trainers, execution, effectiveness, educators, etc. you will find that if you go to another company you will be ill-equiped because everything has been done for you here. Reps, DSMs and RBDs can't even shit for themselves, let alone think. Good luck to all of you when the bomb drops. Unfortunately you're going to need it.

    The Jersey Boys Club was cronyism and nepotism personified. The man set up an affirmative action program for his goombahs. And boy, was it ever effective!

    Today is the day. Lets see what the new master plan is. Hopefully its something good and not just changing sales goals to unrealistic. Everyone I know is trying to jump off the ship before it goes down, lets just hope that someone up top can come up with something good and not give us more of the same.

    Give us something good? Hellooo, McFly! The majority of the ET is intact. Yes, the same ET that helped make us better than most, and then stood idly by while crap hit the fan in the past two years. Yes, we've tossed overboard some of our dead weight in the leadership ranks in the past 6 months. But that, IMHO, was easy. We need strategic thinkers piloting this craft, not people whose biggest contribution to our bottom line was…let's see….well, besides dramatically increasing the numbers of DCS, CDEs, AEs, and lines of management within, I can't think of much.

    Like many of us, I have been fielding calls from those circling buzzards known as recruiters. Many claim that they've placed several of my colleagues with top-tier pharma and biotech. I have two calls with two of 'em this afternoon. I don't want to panic, but I just don't have much faith. In the past 3 years, I've said no to Amgen's CVD and Novartis' Entresto people. I drank the lapis blue kool aid, and said no thanks, I'm with NNI for the long run!!

    What a fool I was!
