It is just as true today as ever...those assholes don't have a job without the sales force and that includes the losers in marketing that have been coasting on Lantus for years. So fire away with plans and you better come correct because there are a lot of people out here pissed off and taking notes. Bring it.

In retrospect to the five layoffs I have seen, being pissed off and taking notes mattered not. Once the layoff is announced, everyone rationalizes what is the best outcome for them is what will occur. Very similar order to the grouping of emotions when coping with a death: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally, acceptance.

Never seen this many sales people in a big room this quiet. They choose to ignore and double down on their failed plans, Step Up is phony but they say it works. Only consolation is talking to friends in other regions and realizing as manic and crazy as my RBL is there are worse situations even for those performing well. They've lost us and don't seem care we'll probably never come back.

Step Up is very phony. None of my business has anything to do with a snack or a webcast. But it makes leadership look good. Yet without taking a deeper dive it looks fail-proof for them. Are scripts going up? Yeah. It is a launch. Scripts go up. So you put the stupid is as stupid does plan in place and then take credit. They could have actually done some things correct that would have actually helped sales. But the sad fact is it doesn't matter. If it looks good on them then it is good. The only thing they failed to account for was virtually complete employee disengagement. You bet we hate them. It is roundly felt that they are the slackers (as already mentioned Step Up is a lazy leadership tool that has zero relevance to the results and costs a lot of money.) ROI on Step Up is unsustainable. I urge leadership to Step Up or Step Out.

GOOD FOR YOU! I'm jealous. I like your 60 day step away plan. I'm starting mine right now. Just wish I was able to walk away in 60 days. I hate hate hate Sanofi and all of this BS. For the love of God, just let me sell Toujeo and not worry about this local insights/challenger crap! Best of luck to you!

This guy is correct. Not one single manager has made a decision in over 5 years!!! They got rid of all the managers who made decisions and made this company great....5 years ago. We have mindless robots who implement ideas from New Jersey, and no one is brave enough to stand up at Manager Meetings and tell Marketing that their ideas are bull crap and won't work. Fuck sanofi. This company sux.

Well, if Sales Managers were Marketing Managers, then maybe your comments would make sense. The purpose of the Sales force is to go sell, not generate the Marketing campaign. We have plenty of people who aren't that good at their current job that they shouldn't worry about doing the jobs of others in the company. It's not really the job of Sales to tell Marketing what to do and vice-versa.

This company sucks because we can't seem to launch anything anymore. That's most likely due to a failure in multiple departments, not just one or the other. It has nothing to do with managers standing up or not standing up at some meeting somewhere. We've had too many good people leave in every department that what we're left with is mediocrity, and it shows.

And, to the previous poster who stated no one has a job without Sales, you should just stop there. If you're going to blame Marketing or Medical or anyone else when results are poor, then you apparently need them just as much as they need you. Pointing fingers only makes things worse around here, and that's the last thing we need.
