Why the heck don't they offer exit packages for all the old dead wood still hanging on and let those folks with families take their jobs?

I think our comrade was referring to the Scott VO's and Randy H's who hang on to prove they can when they could retire with better slush funds then those younger ones early in their careers. There are plenty of those "hanging on" who are just further padding a hefty retirement plan working half days 3 x's a week......
The fact that the company knew the oncology gravy train was running out of steam two years ago and still maintained full headcounts to milk out every last drop shows that this is basically a Pfizer/Merck mindset

The sad fact of the matter is we are going to be losing a ton of revenue because of biosimilars. Add to the fact that none of us are actually working more than a part time job and making good money doing it. I've known for years that the gravy train was going to end and it was a great run.

reduction in revenue = reduction in headcount, it's pharma math.

Lilly announces 3500 layoffs globally, expects to save $500M. If you cannot increase sales, the other way to boost revenue is to reduce expenses.

Add to this one has to ask WHY SSF bozos taught Samsung Biologics how to make Rituxan DS including all SOPs and know-hows! Heard that there were so many SSF people there at 1 time that they had lease a big freakin bus to shuttle them back and forth.

Anyway guess who is making biosim version of Rituxan? Yep Samsung as contract not to make Rituxan biosim only covered their plants 1 and 2 and Samsung found a loophole with new plant 3. Uncle Pascal and Samsung created a shell company for AZ to market Samsung Rituxan.

It only gets WORSE cos Samsung is also doing clin trials on Herceptin and Avastin. Most of the dept heads literally fought to get credit for successful tech transfer then fled like rats when Roche got pissed and began to fire those who led this misadventure.
