Is there a law stating that a company must provide a severance package? If so does anyone know what it entails? I heard anywhere from 2 weeks salary per year employed, immediate vesting of rsu's and options plus health insurance for the time served. Anyone know this....?

Ehh.....it varies. You may get 3 months, you may get 6 months, maybe you get fucking nothing. All depends what those swizzle dicks in HR feel like coughing up.

No, there is no law mandating a severance package, vesting of RSU's, or health insurance. Most companies will give something just to alleviate some of the negative publicity but depending on the state you work in, they don't even have to pay out vacation.

They have already said that packages will be offered to those impacted. Previous packages sounded pretty good.

They have committed to nothing. The size of the pkg could be one week. No details of prior pkg was ever publicly discloses to those not affected.
