Why is Brad Mason and Extremity management allowing Chris Smith to take over all the Distribution in the US? Orthofix is two weeks into the launch of True Lok Hex and they fire Greg, Steve, Fabio, and Melissa and now I hear Chris Smith has been given permission to take over National Distribution. What has he done to make Orthofix believe he can some how manage this when so many others could not. Oregon, Idaho, Ohio, California, and who else will be next. I wonder how Spine would handle having one guy get so powerful and greedy that he could take over like this. This must be the beginning of the end for Extremity. Where does clueless Mason stand on all this?

Not sure where you are getting your information but believe you are mistaken. Maybe CS is just a better businessman than everyone else. GO's hands were tied by the Italians like all of his predecessors and I'm sure he will be receiving a fat severance package. Who will fill the void left by SB? Guess they will need to figure out what the hell he did on a daily basis first.

Highly unlikely but even so, would it really matter to the average trauma rep? If you can sell this crap you should SERIOUSLY consider making the move to a mainstream manufacturer with up to date products and you would be a superstar! Unless you are worried that you'll have to leave all that PCCP and Excaliber business behind.

Actually my magic pin sales are up and coming as the markets go back to original innovation again. I am beating my competition again. I think I made 1.80 today. Ofix if finished they will shut down that division in short order. They did it to themselves as did we believing in the crooked mgmt. God where did they find these losers. Unbelievable.

Maybe you guys should worry about your own sales job and not what decision brad mason takes.
Obviously take a look at the little sales or no sales and ask your self why are you in this industry?
Maybe if you had the business skills like Smitty, R Cool , or say the Deru bro's then you could talk shit.
it sounds like you must be having some personal issues and you want to vent it out against others. Good luck !! Hopefully Smitty gets the whole country and terminates you low # producers....It won't be the first time he's fired someone. No wonder people talk shit....you guys are a waste of time.

Perhaps Orthofix US and the Italians should take a look at why they are in the trauma marketplace with no viable trauma products, and thank the sales people on a daily basis who stick with them in spite of it. It makes no sense to restructure US distribution and put one distributor in charge. That changes nothing with the products, which are virtually all at or beyond the end of their life cycle. Commissioned reps would much rather be out showing customers innovative products and attending lucrative cases than having time to read this crap on a daily basis. For crying out loud, merge, aquire, develop, sell, DO ANYTHING!

I'm surprised that no one has discovered that Matt is the Registered owner of the new LLC. If no one on the legal team at S&N care then these guys must be your typical over promise and severely under deliver group. The Shitty's I mean Smitty's. No way this deal lasts! It also shows how desperately pathetic Orthofix is. The worst part they have destroyed how many really strong distributors at Orthofix.

Smith, Smith, Otis (S2O) hatched many months ago, somehow Orthofix bought it and allowed it. It appears Otis finally got one over on Orthofix and the Italians on the way out by orchestrating this sham of a deal. Surprised the Texas guys folded as quick as they did like a bad poker hand. Otis put distributor agents at odds by slashing commissions under the guise of cost savings then sweeps in with Smitty and offers higher rates. Reps and current guys still get a raw deal because they have no dirt and no contract. Give it 6 months to collapse and be exposed for the field profit-sharing scheme it is. More hands in the pot and on the take.

When you get your termination letter from Orthofix and your contract from Smith READ THE ENTIRE CONTRACT WITH YOUR ATTORNEY. Then go pick up another exfix. No way they can hold anyone to a noncompete. This is breach of contract, plain and simple.

No non compete In any field t holds up unless the company issuing the non compete pays the agent or rep for 12 months at current salary plus kicker to sit out. Anyone in this business for years knows this is true. Ask any Stryker rep held to a non compete. Stryker pays and they win in court. Registered agents accept Mail on behalf of a company btw, Is MS is dumb enough to put his name on a company charter maybe OFIX is doomed.

Watch as the trauma lambs are led to slaughter by the trauma RVP's. The ironic thing is that once there are just one or two distributors there will no longer be a need for RVP's. Why would anyone continue to work for this organization?

The other strange thing that's going on here is that there is no talk from corporate about the new frame . This was supposed to be the product that changed everything for us. Even the roll out at the national sales meeting was lack luster at best. It's almost like the whole company is in a holding pattern. What gives?

Everybody was already fired by NSM... Why bothered doing anything?
But they have "great" RVP's... They should be fine!

At this point there may be more money in selling all the true lok inventory to the recycling center. I hear aluminum is going of .75/lb right now.

The take over of Chris Smith and Greg Ottis? Did this happen? How did it work out for S2O?

This was reversed by the Italian and his little sh!t stain cronie, SD. It was settled out of court for $$$. SB was forced out (again) along with others. Now the entire division has a bad reputation for shady deals, horrible management and control remains overseas. Mason, Fuj and the locals don't seem to understand this business anymore than they do the spinal hardware business. If it weren't for stim the place would downsize and likely close the doors. And to boot, biologics is losing market share due to failed management and abused distributors and field relationships.
