are all those Tampa IT jobs filled yet? how many were posted in Amgen careers? will all current staff get re-lo packages?
I'm currently interviewing for a Tampa IT position, its been a bumpy process so far and I'm not familiar with all of the politics and company history of whats going on here. Its a little scary since I'd be going in blind and don't know what kind of environment I'd be inheriting. They have provided some basic facts about the infrastructure, but very vague. It also sounds like training may be involved with the IT staff in California before taking over these roles in Tampa. If anyone has any background or helpful info - I'd appreciate it. Are there any red flags I should watch for, questions I should ask or important bits of information I should know before taking this opportunity?
I'm thinking about applying for some of the Tampa positions. I live in Tampa and think it's great. Mostly this forum is to air negative views and you will not get much positive feedback. The open positions look great and I know I probably have a cadre of strong IT people, in the wings, that I can bring with me who have real experience in protecting assets. I kind of wish they would not bring any disgruntled people from CA. I like a positive, professional environment and would rather not have any baggage.
Ask why is the center opening up? Ask your manager where they see themselves in five years? Ask how long they have been with the company and if they transfered in and why. Ask if there has been turnover in middle management and why? Ask their opinions on the pipeline and earnings for the next 4 quarters.
Don't leave a good job. Only come if you are not working. Good luck, but be careful. Ask the questions, I only wish I could hear the answers. LOL
heard the last wave of the downturn is at the end of February. How many folks are going to be looking for new jobs? good thing for them, the job market looks pretty good.
