The individual territories were unfairly created and this unit has the most inconsistency in terms equal opportunity for the sales reps than anywhere else. Some territories have the mother load of potential whereas others have zero. This alone needs to be changed but then to add a rank report to this division is just wrong. This is a situation where you have exceptional reps with territories that have no potential and then also are publicly humiliated with a rank report that lists everyone's names? We were told this would never happen as it is very obvious there is a huge imbalance in territory potential. Some people just got lucky for the territories they have, not because they are better reps or working harder. Please take the rank report down and realign the territories so it is fair for everyone.

    Somebody's not making goal.
I guess you'd be ok with ranking report if you, as you say, were one of the "lucky" ones. Everyone doesn't get a trophy.

All franchises have rank reports, not going away and yes, it sucks....the bottom 10% will be made miserable, eventually forced out and the top 10% will be made out to be gods. Goal setting is a huge issue here

Wow...you sound like a prick. I actually agree with the post and I am in the top 10%. I said it from the beginning that the territories weren't balanced in any way shape or form. If there is a rank report, it should be the name of the territory, not the individual. This isn't grade school. Again, you really sound like a prick. Sad.

Trust me, it's not just MS goals. Goal setting here is whack. In my franchise, they raised everyone's goals by the exact same percentage nation wide from July-Dec. They did not take anyone's individual territory market dynamics in mind when setting goals.

Very well said. There is a lot of naivety here regarding the MS Market. Couldn't agree more that it has been the luck of the draw for territories. I would hate to see those with low potential territories take the heat.

Its the dirty little secret that everyone is talking about now, especially now that they released a rank report, I agree as well and I'm very disappointed. They told us specifically that there wasn't going to be a rank report because of the obvious differences in territories. I'm not out to put anyone down or call anyone out, but the carved out territories are simply unfair. They are simply setting some out to just fail. No matter how talented a sales rep is, it won't make a difference if a rep is given something with no potential. It is no secret that certain managers handed out platinum potential territories to their friends. Certain people were given territories to quickly advance their careers. If you have a territory where the majority of targets don't treat MS and refer out to a large university hospital, how is that fair? Given the shockingly obvious differences in territories, we were told there wasn't going to be a rank report.

Don't you see it? Territory assignments were set up with a purpose. It's true, managers set up their "friends" to succeed. If your not one of the good ole boys, you need to "network" more. More "development". That's how one becomes a preferred candidate. Ranking reports are made to cull out the low performers. With all the turmoil going on with our other divisions, you don't want be on the bottom of the ranking reports. Otherwise you'll be blood bait in a shark tank.
Only the strong will survive. No excuses. Good luck, you'll need it.

This couldn't be more true! This is happening in my district and it's sickening. My manager gave all the good territories to buddies, especially one in particular that has made it no secret that this is just a momentary stepping stone until a promotion. Of course they suddenly get one of the best territories. It's really sick.

your manager also hired you probably unfairly over other more qualified candidates? nice culture. what goes around comes around. if you don't like our unfair, lazy, political environment, then don't let the door hit you on your way out. this is how we roll here. i'm picking up my manager's kids from school today to help her out.

You don't know shit about me or anyone else. The only thing that is evident here is you're probably one of the talentless inside hire losers that got Gifted a great territory and you know it. The outside hires had fantastic documented success. Now go take a shit for your manager too.

Some of the territories have 2-3 accounts that are really up & going. I'm afraid there were just too many CS's hired in the first place. That is the real problem. Feast or famine based on the luck of the assignment.

Everyone here is competitive. The only way external candidates were hired was because of proven success. Hopefully leadership will realize the disparity among territories. Earlier they stated they understood this, now a ranking report? Obviously they don't understand it. Hopefully they will continue with a National & District component, because it will be totally unfair to financially hurt those that drew the short straw in regards to territories, while those that got major MS Centers have a built in success factor and are being financialky rewarded for business they had very little to do with generating.

Oh now, let's not be sour grapes. Thall shal not covet ones neighbor. You were picked for the job because you said in your interview that you could sell and you had a successful track record to prove it. Was that a lie?
Now get out there and show us what you are made of. We are watching you and the ranking reports. If you'll scroll down to the thread that says HUGE HEAD COUNTS COMING, you'll know that there are others who would love your job. They might be a little more hungry than you. Do you have what it takes? We don't pay high salaries and best of class perks to hear excuses. Quit your whining. No excuses.
