California fires

    Not the person you are responding to but your second sentence is an oxymoron. Quicker evacuation notices in less predictable situations? That isn't how it works.

    I'll second that. Fires are unpredictable period. Relating them to politics is ridiculous. 31 already dead in Portugal which is a postage stamp compared to California. California actually did an excellent job giving warnings. The size and speed of these fires was herculean.

    Of course it does. If the situation is unpredictable but life-threatening it's cause to be extra cautious and issue evacuation orders early and over a wider area!

    No relating them to politics is not ridiculous! We elect officials to effectively deal with such situations. When they handle such situations incompetently it is a big deal. Why do you think you would have been more than happy to politicize the situation if Trump had bungled hurricane relief.
    Bottom line: moonbeam messed up!
