Yes. Closer to the day you retire but also to the day you die.

the truth is that you also will be closer to the day you die...sorry to inform you but time marches on for everyone. I will also add that the early retirement is a mixed blessing as many of us are still going to look for work and it is going to be very strange being out of the industry after all these years. I am relieved because this is a bad scene. But I will miss my colleagues and bonus checks and being part of a large company and all the good that comes from that. It really is a mixed bag and having so much time to think about it is not making it any easier. Im leaving of course but all this time in between makes it a little scarier. It is like standing on a cliff and having to wait to jump. The longer you stand there staring down at the water the more nervous you become. Any way good luck to all.

Thanks for your insight. I too was on the fence. But I just keep going back to what happened when Lovenox went south. It was not nice.

The way I see it, DCV is in disarray. 3 leaders in 3 years - not good. Global looks on USA as a horrible mish mash that will take years to fix. Global is focused on China. (I encourage you to listen to the Global DCV webcast from last week's weekly DCV communication). Hopefully Stephan can turn it around.

The insulin market is shot, we are coming out with yet another SGLT and a me-too Humalog. Won't be easy to sell. Management has switched from a nurturing posture to an adversarial mentality. Activity and managed care has become the primary message, not efficacy.

I don't think I would last another 18 months with my manager, a slave driving micro manager.

I am sad to go, but I have to go.

Lol, they have been talking about China since 2006. Now they realize the U.S. is still the major driving force of their business.
