It's probably just a much needed consultant position because the company would never engage in kickbacks.
Just look at the paintings of their customers on the walls of their HQ when you walk in the door and ask which of those people (implanting docs) had family members working for MDT?
I worked for MDT years ago. There was a doc somewhere in the Mid-West - I think. Apparently, he implanted more MDT pacemakers than anyone at that time. His son or daughter was on his clinical support team. Listen, it happens. Every company does it. MDT just has an arrogance that they do nothing wrong, all the while they are as corrupt as the rest.
