does publicis have a policy about forced roommates at meetings or is it the discretion of the company you're representing at the time?

I believe it’s usually the discretion of the company that you are contracted to. Typically they are the ones footing the bill for the room anyway, so they would usually make that decision.

i has my credit card info swiped from me after having to share a room with a random guy from another district. I'm guessing he went through my wallet while I was in the shower. I can't prove it was him, but I got the card new right before I started for the company and only used it a few times during training. Imagine my surprise when I see a new Xbox system charged to my card. I didn't have to pay it, but it pisses me off he got away with it.

This is one of the many reasons we shouldn’t be forced to share a room. As adults, sharing a room is crazy to begin with. Then they put you in a precarious situation by having to share a close space with someone that you don’t even know - and honestly, they don’t really know them that well either!

That’s awful ! What a cheap company to expose reps to such . I remember years ago at a meeting a rep came to breakfast ranting to her manager bc her roommate came in late very drunk and peed in her suitcase ! Also a guy I knew was in Vegas and forced to have a roommate and he woke up and his roommate was in the bed next to him getting it on with a hooker . These are extreme cases , however someone always gets a weirdo that wakes up at 4:30 to work out !

It is up to the contract . I was with Publicis for about a year and never had a roommate. That included training and district meetings . The pay was very low and so were bonuses , but they at least gave us our own rooms and we went to nice places .
