and regretting it! Making plans to leave after being here 2 weeks. Unsure if it is because of the CIA or the JBI partnership but this place loves their rule book.

Calls per day, reach and frequency, every other expense report gets kicked back, managers are box checkers, meetings that run you into the ground with mandatory day and evening activities and a sales leader who is as phony and scripted as a soap opera. Do you need more? All this at a "small Biotech"

Really sad to hear your "small biotech" is an unethical game. Same playbook going on at Amgen, Celgene, Gilead just about all of them. Getting much worse due to fear of Trump administration and what's inevitably coming in healthcare. Very few will be left to keep minimal profits going and those that are will be the lowest of the low: backstabbers, liars and least talented not to mention highly incompetent. Pharma going to be gutted like never seen before!

You failed to mention call plans and targets, no equity, and partners, and inexperienced managers who like to think they are very special people.

The worst thing they do is hiding the fact they want a non compete clause signed. They hide this until you start and therefore have given notice to spring this on you. My lawyer said it is not enforceable but it could scare someone off as it is a barrier to easily leaving. This place is they worst place I have ever worked at and that is low praise.

You obviously have been in a previous position that "spoiled" you. This place is awesome...no pressure to "kill it" b/c sale already happened...great managers (that I interact with) that have "been there..done that" and treat you like a true professional and the drug is second to NONE. Who cares about logging calls and checking boxes? If Abbvie wants a unicorn..give them a unicorn.

It's refreshing to be treated well and have the start-up pressure off while still in the same arena. The ONLY issue is your "counterpart" and if you can manage their inexperience/lack of ability. Anyone with experience would give two thumbs up to this job/drug and have fun until the next "buyout" opportunity arises.

Be positive...I've had WAAAAAYYYYYY worse jobs in a big pharma environment. Life is good!

Good to see someone in management is up at 330am on a friday posting to cafepharma.

So what you are saying is create activity to comply with bad policy, hide behind the good drug and counterparts, and just coast because the drug sells itself. In return you will be micromanaged and given no equity because that would be "spoiling me".

No thanks. Ill take the responsibility of selling any drug in any market but I want the chance to make a lot of money. Most here are looking to leave and no stock means no reason to stay long term.

Ive been here a long time and I do not know of one person who is happy. Everyone is looking to leave for even other bad jobs, i.e. Bayer, AZ, etc. This place will never change the terrible culture that was founded by the wacky scientologist.

"WAS" a great start up opportunity with an incredible and exciting commercial launch = Huge (rare) stock option payouts $$$. Today you work for just another average BIG Pharma with a great drug! The ambitious and confident moved on to EXEL. Watch out acalabrutinib is coming hard for your business, ask John Byrd!!!

The Sales Director just made an announcement on a conference call that the most important thing we do at a speaker program is to make sure everyone signs in. This industry has hit rock bottom.

2nd quarter: The company notifies 25 reps they were overpaid. The company says it will repay itself from the December bonus check.

3rd quarter: The company has a new data issue, retracts numbers. All of a sudden everyone's percent to quota falls to below quota? The guy in sales ops get promoted.

This company is a sham. Can't wait to leave, no faith in "leadership". Terrible waste of a great drug!

You are not happy with primary care managers and their valuable guidance of how to do things?

Just had a physician ask me at lunch how many sales reps does he need to see for Imbruvica? I could not give him an answer. He said he would just cut back on seeing patients to see all the Imbruvica reps. We both laughed.

PCYC does a great job with the policies and procedures. They just can't get anything right re numbers, payouts, marketing supplies etc, the important things. Worst management ever!
